That's how I feel! There was Tina too, (The gorgeous Michelle Keegan!) A whole bunch of carbon copy gobshites! And they always follow the same plotline and look the same. (Like Leonardo DiCaprio's girlfriends! All off an assembly line, really similar, and all never last.)

I agree with everyone here. The Joel storyline sucks, and no-one cares about him. And where on earth is it going to go now?! Is Max going to jail for murder? Why would he do this? Correct me if I'm wrong but it feels like Max and Lauren have only been together 5 minutes. OK maybe several months, maybe... But fuck me, I wouldn't give a bloke my last rolo after such a short time of dating, let alone cover for a murder for him, pretend it's me, and go to prison for life. Fuck that shit! 😆

As a pp said, I fast-forwarded it a couple of times last night because Max and Lauren were boring me. I am sick of her angsty face and her wailing. Even when she was reading the letter out loud and 'sobbing' I was like... 🙄

And as @HaddyAbrams said, I am also sick of baddies nearly always being killed, and hardly ever doing time and being served justice. Pat Phelan, Stephen (Gail's brother,) Richard Hillman, Jez Quigley, Geoff Metcalfe, Alan Bradley, Maya Sharma, Tony Gordon, (and Joel of course!) There's probably more........!

I think the note was more to explain why lauren didn't hand herself in. She'd never have let him take the blame, that's why he snuck off and he wanted to be sure she knew why he was doing it - for Frankie.

Sure, I realise he was explaining to Lauren, and us. It's the handwriting I that I don't buy. An 18 year old would surely use Snapchat as it disappears after one view so no evidence.

Ahhh but then we wouldn't have got the emotional bit when he "read" it to lauren later 😂

I was also thinking last night when did Max pass his driving test.
Anyway the whole storyline has been tedious and crap. Why can't they ever face justice and be sentenced instead of being killed off

I couldn't watch last night's awful hour at it's screen time so did so earlier this morning. I hadn't checked this thread as didn't want to know whodunnit. What a waste of time. Like a pp I almost fast forwarded and I've never felt the need to do that before.

After persevering for a very long 60 minutes I truly regretted it. Bollox and rubbish. Tripe and predictable boring dragged out disappointment. The entire storyline is a go to option for the writers. Just different faces and tweaked details.

Corrie is crap now. Will I still watch? Probably 🫤🫢

I can’t normally get annoyed at David but he’s really pissing me off at the moment. It’s not the fact that he doesn’t give a 💩 about Clayton. He killed his wife and Mother of his kids. Why should he care why would he. However it’s the fact that he’s being so insensitive and unsupportive with Shona and hid the emails and phone calls from her. Whatever Clayton has done he’s Shona’s child her baby and David shouldn’t get the right to make the call whether or not she sees or has a relationship with him or not. He knew Shona was Clayton’s mum from the start before he embarked on the relationship. It’s not like he found out months down the track but was already insanely in love with her by then. Deep down he must have known when the chips were down she’d be there for him.
Not that a couple has to necessarily match for them to work but I don’t think they’re suited anyway.

I totally agree. David is a shit to her. Still, things are alright while she's looking after his kids and lugging bags of shopping home after her shift at the caff

You know what this story reminded me of?

I agree I'd like to see villains imprisoned rather than killed, but the problem then is we have to suffer through a trial. Joel snarling in the witness box, Lauren snarling back, DD snivelling. But then again, his death hasn't spared us much because he's been dead for weeks and the storyline is still droning on 😱

I just feel I've been robbed of seeing that smug smirk wiped off his face 😭

Now I’m not stupid far from it but someone please for the love of snakes make this make sense.. One minute Kit was basically saying to Max he couldn’t have possibly killed Joel because of the angle of his injury. The next he’s got the go ahead to charge him with murder. Do the CPS not listen to these interviews with suspects. If I worked for the CPS there’s no way I’d let that charge go through well certainly not without more solid and fool proof evidence. Have they never heard of people taking the blame for others or being coerced into a confession.

Perhaps they think in this kind of scenario, being charged with murder might make the person confessing panic and tell the truth? Not sure if that's feasible.

In any case, max could be lying either way. He could have whacked Joel over the head from behind, then lied and said it was self defence as Joel was strangling him. With his confession and everything else adding up perhaps they had to charge him.

It doesn't look great that Max went after Joel... no, but then he went armed with only a can of CS ... no weapon, which reduces the 'pre-meditated murder' bit somewhat.

He's suddenly discovered where Joel is, after Joel storming around threatening people and being weird, he's a hot headed idiot teenager... I think you could buy that he went there to yell at him or thump him, not to kill him...

But once you heave the body over the parapet and into the raging river, that gets a lot harder!

I wonder if Kit knows that CPS would (at least in the real world) throw this out as the forensics are pretty clear that Max could not have hit Joel over the head when Joel was behind him, strangling him, whilst pushing him over the parapet... so he's charged him in order to frighten him into admitting that Lauren was the one who whomped Joel.

I would have liked Clayton in prison, Max in for gbh and Joel in for lots of nasty stuff. All in one overcrowded cell. Like Porridge in the seventies.
Baddies need the full force of justice, not being deaded.

I don't think Max would get far with saying he 'only' went armed with a can of CS spray. I know they made it look like he was carrying a can of hairspray but

But I agree I thought that Kit's aim in charging Max with murder was to get Lauren to confess. Which didn't work, and clearly Max couldn't be charged on the evidence anyway.

@JewelleryCat my take is that Cassie wants him unwell, so she’s offered her job back as Ken’s carer.

I've had it on in the background, but absorbed about 1% of it. I might have to rewatch, but I suspect that'll be another hour of my life wasted.
