What is confusing me is ...
It has not been confirmed that Joel is the dad , so technically...the mum and dad did abduct a baby ..as there is no proof that Frankie is their grandchild ....

Or have I missed a bit where Lauren Did do a DNA test ?

He can't be on the birthday certificate as they both have to do that together as not married .

If baby needs a marrow/blood donation...I reckon by a 100 million zillion billion to one ...Max is a match 😂😂!

No way Joel isn't the father. I'm wondering the opposite about Deedee. Is this going to push her to keep the baby as it could be their best chance at a donor?

It makes sense of the whole Deedee being pregnant storyline as I'd thought it pointless. They've already done the "pregnant by a nutcase, can I love the baby" before and it was strange how they just threw it in after leading us to believe Deedee was saving herself.

The BP monitor is obviously relevant - I reckon Gail’s reading will be through the roof & Audreys will be normal.
Gail will panic, go to see Dr Gadass & she’ll tell her not to move ( too stressful ) Gail with peacefully pass away on Christmas Day.
Jesse will go to France with Eileen ( who obviously still loves him because she’s making one glass of wine last 10 hours, just so she can hang around in the Rovers all day to get a glimpse of him )
I actually find Jesse quite funny, he’d be a good permanent addition I think.

I don't want Gail to pass away on Christmas day or go to France. I want her to turn invisible so David can keep talking about Gail.
I like George, I don't want Eileen upsetting him.

Agreed although I'd happily forfeit George's happiness if eyelash buggered off for good. It would only be short term upset anyway. He'll be much happier without her in the long run.

@CellophaneFlower you reckon Frankie could wait several months for whatever procedure he needs? And a newborn baby could provide it? Surely there is a high chance of DD's baby having the same condition if it's from Joel's side.

That's what I thought. Not then didn't Max say that Frankie was with "his Grandparents" so they took him at his word. Although as all the police know the residents so well, living near by and such like, they should have known that Frankie doesn't have any Grandparents to take him out!

Oh yes...but they might realise Frankie isn't Joel's. What a mess.
If George became single, there'll be too many single men. Ryan George Todd Billy Kirk Brian...and now Carla isn't available the situation is unbalanced. Rita and Leanne and Audrey don't work with any of them.

I would absolutely love Frankie to 'not be Joel's baby' but I just can't see it. Surely if either Bobby or Max thought that there was any chance he might belong to them they would have spoken up long ago.

I think Jesse would be a good character too. He’s a decent actor. He’d bounce well off David.

Joel’s mum is doing a good job of portraying evil too. Hope she doesn’t hear about Deedee’s pregnancy. In reality grandparents of a dead father wouldn’t have any rights. My friend’s partner’s in laws tried to do that for their grand children when their daughter died, and didn’t win. Although I have a bit more understanding for Joel’s parents if they obviously have found bruises on the baby. They weren’t making it up out of spite.

But even if Frankie can wait several months and DeeDee's baby is a match, it could have the same issue presumably. Bit of a risk.

Edit - I used to watch Emmerdale, Sarah had leukaemia I think? We don't know what Frankie's issue is yet do we - if it's genetic or not?

I assumed probably leukaemia... as when babies have bruises on soaps it generally goes 1 of 2 ways... meningitis or leukaemia. And always after somebody has been accused of hurting them.

Not all conditions are hereditary. Not sure if the babies having different mums would affect it either as I'm guessing sometimes you need 2 copies of a gene.

Yes you're probably right, soaps are fond of childhood leukaemia storylines. Corrie have already done it with Hope.

I would have thought two different mothers would affect the chances of a match. But this is Corrie so there is no point worrying about realism😆

I think Hope had a different type of cancer but I'm sure they've covered it previously anyway.

I'm probably wrong anyway but really think there must be more of a reason for Deedee's pregnancy.

Hope did have leukaemia, but she was 4 so a lot older. I don't remember much about her treatment though. DeeDee has barely been offscreen this year and looks like it'll be the same next year, I don't understand why they pick on a few characters and batter them to death with storylines.

Anyone ever thought of haemophilia as the cause of Frankie's bruises?
I thought of this before you Corrie writers!.
Haemophilia is inherited from the sufferers' mother.It is only found in boys, very rarely in girls.Girls are the carriers, as it is carried on one of the X chromosomes.If the carrier gives her son that affected X then her son will be haemophiliac.If she gives him the normal X he will escape having it.
A haemophiliac causes all his daughters to be carriers, but his sons all escape it as they do not get his X chromosome.
Just a suggestion.Lauren could be a carrier without knowing it.Her father may have been a sufferer or her mother a carrier who in turn passed it to her.
The most well known carrier was Queen Victoria.Our royal family escaped it as she did not give Edward VII her faulty X.Her daughters were nearly all carriers.They married into the other royal families of Europe and this caused devastation as the heirs to the various thrones were affected.
As haemophilia causes absence of the blood clotting factor, it is known to cause extensive bruising even from the slightest knock.Nowadays it can be treated by injecting that missing factor into the blood stream of an affected person so stems any heammorage but the effect is not permanent, the suffers has to seek treatment each time he is injured.
It is thought that females completely escape it as they have regular bleeding in their menstrual periods and of course childbirth, which could easily kill them.
This does not correlate to DeeDee's unborn child though!
