Bake Off 24 Part Two: a meltingly light and fluffy thread taking us all the way to the final.

The last thread filled up fast in a heated debate about Alison's acrobatic antics. Join us here for the last two episodes.

Whose patisserie will carry them through the semi final and who will experience the frustration of missing out on the final 3? Will anyone fall off a stool, workbench or just trip over their own feet? Will the finalists surpass their previous efforts or will the last showstopper be a series of damp squibs? Not long to find out.

I'm not bothered who wins, I'll miss it loads on a Tuesday though!

AnImaginaryCat · 26/11/2024 17:29

I'm an ABD. (Anyone but Dylan).

Sorry Dylan fans he's just too much of a pup for me. Talented but so are the rest of them. (It peaked for me when he was stroppy and the cake dropped on the ground and he just walked off like clean up was someone else's problem. Yes, yes I know editing.)

I'm ready to sulk tonight, as suspect it will be him who wins. Feel like he's been primed to be the winner.

Will try to watch in real time tonight.

I love Dylan. I hope he wins.

See, I did feel like that at that beginning - highly Instagrammable, just back from his gap yaah, tantrums when his bakes weren't as good as he felt entitled for them to be.

But I think he's genuinely learned over the series - he still desperately wants to win but he doesn't feel cheated if it doesn't go his way. He's learnt to fail a bit and be grateful when it goes well.

Whereas Georgie hasn't quite got the perspective to take failure in the chin and carry on. Well, she didn't have last week, who knows how she'll cope with the pressure this week.

I'm sure Christian would love to win but he doesn't seem quite as desperate as the other two.

Just seen what they are making in the Guardian, I an SO excited. I bake along with every challenge and I can't wait to do these ones. A classic technical and two gorgeous main challenges.

I will be happy if it’s Christiaan or Dylan. Georgie has started to irritate me.

Utter bitch of a day so this is the tonic I need

LilacLilyBird · 26/11/2024 19:57

@AnImaginaryCat same Grin

cuddlebear · 26/11/2024 19:58

Hold on. I need a slice of Madeira cake.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 26/11/2024 19:59

I don't mind who wins but I would bet it's Christiaan

Hedjwitch · 26/11/2024 20:00

Come on Christiaan.

GetSetFake · 26/11/2024 20:01

Georgie blaming the oven! And we haven't even started yet.

I think it will probably be Dylan. The cynic in me thinks he's the most marketable.

PrincessScarlett · 26/11/2024 20:04

Oooohhh love a scone 😋

Appalonia · 26/11/2024 20:05

They're making scones for the final? Even I can do that!

They just don't work like that though. Or Raoul would never have won. I am utterly convinced it goes on merit and that when they appear to be favouring someone it's because of the flavours that we can't see.

When I saw the list in the Guardian I assumed that would be the technical. Still think it's a lovely challenge though.

Not keen on curry mustard scones. Or strawberry and salmon ones!!

AnImaginaryCat · 26/11/2024 20:06

Though strawberry and sour strawberry scones might test my love!

GetSetFake · 26/11/2024 20:08

They are throwing the kitchen sink at those fillings!
