The last thread filled up fast in a heated debate about Alison's acrobatic antics. Join us here for the last two episodes.

Whose patisserie will carry them through the semi final and who will experience the frustration of missing out on the final 3? Will anyone fall off a stool, workbench or just trip over their own feet? Will the finalists surpass their previous efforts or will the last showstopper be a series of damp squibs? Not long to find out.

I blame Fairy. She's in so many adverts for the bl~~dy stuff; they're probably making her drink it.

Envious of the people going to the recording of The Extra Slice today. Apart from queuing in the ☔️!

A friend of mine had tickets but Storm Bert put paid to their travel plans.

Would have been a fab experience but very strange knowing the outcome and having to keep it quiet, I think.

I think they are all really good bakers.

Some of their creations are just fabulous.
No one in the final completely stands out imo, as has happened in past series.
Dylan sometimes stands out but then he makes mistakes too.

I went for the episode when Mike left. Absolutely loved it!

Gill is one of the few contestants whose cookery book I would buy.

As always, excited to see what the final will bring and sad it is nearly over for another for another year. It will leave a big Bake Off shaped hole in my Tuesday nights!

I’m calling it - I think Christiaan is going to pull it off! Think he’s been quietly creeping up.

Can't believe it's the final tonight, Tuesdays will be so empty.

Don't really want Georgie to win although she seems to be this years PH favourite. She's good but not consistently good imo.

I think Dylan deserves to win but Christiaan has shown the most growth.

Team Christiaan here. He's always smiley and cheerful too. Don't mind if Dylan wins but not a fan of Georgie.

I can't see Dylan not winning, I'll be shocked if it's one of the others. But I agree with you Snow that
Christiaan has shown the most growth.

The thing is we only see what they want us to see because it’s all edited after someone’s already won. So you can’t necessarily assume that someone will or won’t win based on what were shown. We’re seeing a lot of Dylan - but is that because he does win so they want us to feel invested in him, or is it because he doesn’t win so we’re surprised when we see who does?

I agree Christian has definitely come the furthest and is a sweetheart. Dylan has been stronger overall and I've warmed to him over the weeks. (Though someone I know has a theory he is being coached by a professional chef. Which was my theory about Sophie who had a chef boyfriend, but hadn't occurred to me for Dylan.) Georgie would be very lucky to get it after last week's shenanigans, but has earned the right to be there. Very exciting final.

What astounds me is that the result of the final is never leaked beforehand.
How have they been able to manage that ?

Especially knowing that everyone who attended Extra Slice at the weekend knows now! A very loyal fanbase and a media which has an interest in maintaining the tension.

And of course, we did have someone only tangentially connected to the show who didn't really get the rules and tried to drop some heavy handed hints on here a few weeks back.

Luckily they just said the person was "really annoying" and as that's been levelled at all three finalists (plus Illyn, and I think even Gill's northern portions were winding one poster up), we are thankfully none the wiser.
