Bake Off 24 Part Two: a meltingly light and fluffy thread taking us all the way to the final.

The last thread filled up fast in a heated debate about Alison's acrobatic antics. Join us here for the last two episodes.

Whose patisserie will carry them through the semi final and who will experience the frustration of missing out on the final 3? Will anyone fall off a stool, workbench or just trip over their own feet? Will the finalists surpass their previous efforts or will the last showstopper be a series of damp squibs? Not long to find out.

Although they said nice things to Gill as well they weren't gushing about Gill's like they were to the other three.

billysboy · 19/11/2024 21:05

They may pick all 4 for the final

Not sure about Dylan's choux bun in the middle - that could be very soggy.

It was covered in caramel - presumably to stop it going soggy.

I think Gill won't make the final.

That has crossed my mind tonight too

I agree

Think Gill may go. They said they'd judge by taking into account their performances up to this point. Gill probably hasn't been quite as consistent as the others over the weeks. Christian has grown a lot but his flavours have been a bit hit and miss over the series.I think the winner will be between Georgie and Dylan.

fabricstash · 19/11/2024 21:08

I agree - I think Gill does not have the finesse of the others and she only did one type

Justhere65 · 19/11/2024 21:10

The standard is so high this year. It is fab.

Pancakeflipper · 19/11/2024 21:11

Awww Gill. You've been a joy to watch.

PrincessScarlett · 19/11/2024 21:11

Aaahh Gill is so gracious.

RonSwansonsChair · 19/11/2024 21:12

🥹 bye Gill, such a lovely lady.

JosieRay · 19/11/2024 21:13

Aww gotta love Gill!

PrincessScarlett · 19/11/2024 21:13

That was nice seeing the film crew there to give an idea of what it's actually like in the tent with all the cameras.

BonnieBairn · 19/11/2024 21:13

Gill was robbed. Dylan did badly in the signature and didn't complete the showstopper brief of 12 entremes. I think they just wanted him in the final.

RonSwansonsChair · 19/11/2024 21:13

Dylan is going to win, hands down.

In fairness to Gill, her entremets were just right.

It's Dylan's to lose imho.

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 19/11/2024 21:14

Gill baked from the heart.

Christianne to win for me

Hedjwitch · 19/11/2024 21:15

Pah! Georgie's histrionics piss me off.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 19/11/2024 21:15

my money is now on christiaan
I think the story they've been building is to make everyone believe it's Dylan's and it'll be the quiet one on the side

Dylan has been cherry picked for the final since week one. No surprise there. He is a fantastic baker though when he pulls it off.

Part of me is cynical, and thinks Dylan is the most marketable as a winner.

But no doubt he is talented.

Dylan is definitely the most marketable. I think Georgie and Christiaan could be quite forgettable.

snowsjoke · 19/11/2024 21:18

Yes, that was a little insight into the scrutiny they're under. You'd need quite a cool head. Sad to see Gill go, she was an excellent hone baker but didn't have the same standard of glitz or creativity of the others. I liked how her show stoppers had a little family story attached though.

Justhere65 · 19/11/2024 21:20

I’m sad to see Gill go too … she is lovely and so natural.
