My mum used to make trifle every Christmas. (Sorry, very working class so jelly and tinned fruit.)Unbeknownst to mum, dad always topped up the sherry a bit. So it didn’t set very well, but bloody hell.

I chain drink coffee all day but LOATHE coffee in anything else, I also like chocolate but dislike chocolate desserts, cakes, biscuits etc. Even dislike brownies. My kids think I'm completely weird.

I am the opposite. I like coffee flavoured things but can't abide actual coffee (unless it''s a liqueur coffee).

Enough sherry I can overlook the jelly. Hic!!!

I miss my mum's sherry trifle.

Halsall · 20/11/2024 20:34

Sherry trifle as made by my mum is one of my fondest Christmas memories. No jelly.

No. No jelly.

GrouchyKiwi · 20/11/2024 20:34

I like all of these chefs (for different reasons). Wish the two heats this week had been mixed up.

ShamedBySiri · 20/11/2024 20:35

They look a promising bunch.
Save three again do we think?

Home made Christmas pud in my house (made by me). Not this year tho. It's a massive recipe and mam is only allowed the fruit a couple times so a shop bought small one. Tesco have a black forest one I'm eyeing up

I bet all these four have more potential than Mondays lot.

Oooh. That looks like I want to eat it.

PotterHead1985 · 20/11/2024 20:36

What's his main? I got lost

EsmaCannonball · 20/11/2024 20:36

I declare that I like trifle either with or without jelly but it has to have posh, proper custard, not Bird's.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 20/11/2024 20:36

Not being stereotypical or owt, but are we betting Sara is married to either a banker or kc, and has two kids maybe called Cressida and Toby?

Only DH eats Christmas pudding - I can’t abide it! So he’s on his own with that one.

Great-Nonna! Double drink!

Theeyeballsinthesky · 20/11/2024 20:37

A great nonna - not your run of the mill one!

PotterHead1985 · 20/11/2024 20:38

Great nonna- down the bottle

Exactly. Even on the basis of one skills test these four are miles ahead.

There must be a better way to score the heats and make sure the best chefs go through.

TheDogsMother · 20/11/2024 20:38

Christmas Pudding. Now you're talking. Love it.
