Voted for Shayne and Chris

xsquared · 26/10/2024 20:58

Public vote is 11 for the most votes and 1 for the least votes.
Add the scores together to get the total.

So if Jamie gets the most votes, he has a maximum of 22 points.

The public vote will rank each contestent in order with the most popular getting 11 and the least popular getting 1.

So Chris could get 7 + 11 = 18 and Tash could get 10 + 1 = 11.

I think.

Pumpkincozynights · 26/10/2024 21:00

I think Sarah is incredible. She is a lot older than some of the others. It is very hard to be that energetic and flexible and strong in your 50s. Just look at Paul, he was a professional sportsman and a similar age to Sarah.
Yes she went to a theatre school but I don’t care. Jamie is a trained actor, so should be amazing at performing in character.
It doesn’t bother me at all.

januaryjan · 26/10/2024 21:03

Late to the parade tonight.

Shayne's dance was the best and most creative of the night. He is beautiful to watch and for me stole the show.
Craig got the essence of the dance and how good Shayne was- the other three judges did not., but to be honest, I think the other three are swayed by who they personally like as opposed to how good they are and have already decided who they want in the final and are going hell for leather to keep them in iykwim - the continued over fawning on Jamie and Tasha for example. All three judges (except Craig) could not fault the actual dance or dancer, so marked Shayne down because they decided he took too long with the 'wandography' 👀- talk about grabbing at straws.
I do not get the dislike of Shayne - he comes across as a lovely, gentle guy. He was undermarked and was as good if not better than Jamie.

CaveMum · 26/10/2024 21:10

Placemarking. Just got back from a cinema trip so missed the whole thing! Will try to catch up in the morning so I’ve got some kinda clue before tomorrow’s show!

Stretchedresources · 26/10/2024 21:11

Voted for Montell, Jamie and Pete here. I overthought it, then gave my head a wobble and went with my gut.

Inkanta · 26/10/2024 21:12

Rewatched Tasha and Aljaz. Aljaz is loving it back on Strictly - looks so happy!

dollybird · 26/10/2024 21:34

🎃

NigelHarmansNewWife · 26/10/2024 21:51

I thought Shayne didn't actually do much dancing in that routine and Craig was at pains to say how good it was - I think he's in danger when he's really very good.

periodiclabel · 26/10/2024 22:23

Just watched - I loved Tasha having been meh previously, not sure why it was so disliked

Liked Shayne but think he’s in danger

Vito is just fab-u-lous

Lentilweaver · 26/10/2024 22:28

I think that AT choreo was awful. So many legs splayed wide moments. Very ungainly.

NeedWineNow · 26/10/2024 22:58

Hi all, well that wasn't a bad show overall. Wayward marking again but I suppose we should be used to that. Can see Punam and Wynne in the Dance Off. I really liked Pete, Sarah and Shane, although DH did ask when he was actually going to start.

Yirk · 26/10/2024 23:03

Voted Jamie, Sarah and Montell.

TennisWithDeborah · 26/10/2024 23:19

I really enjoyed this evening. Watched it with friends. Just got back.

It’s difficult to call. I think that Punam, Chris, Wynne and Sam are as good as they’re going to get (but I like them all). Loved Shayne, Pete, Jamie, Sarah.

The celebs I wasn’t keen on (Nick and Paul) have gone so there is no one I want to be ousted.

dollybird · 26/10/2024 23:51

I voted Pete (for the first time, haven't liked him before), Punam and Wynne. Would've voted Shayne if I hadn't been watching behind. I have no favourites yet.

WGACA · 27/10/2024 00:03

coffeeneeded · 26/10/2024 20:42

Eh? Shirley was obviously Winnie Sanderson from hocus Pocus. Bette midlers role
.

She was definitely Winnie Sanderson!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 27/10/2024 00:43

Waltzing in at What Time Do You Call This? What did I miss? The last thread was pockmarked with deletions!

Watching tomorrow

BehindTheSequinsandStilettos · 27/10/2024 01:31

Ah, I just went back and looked - they appear to have deleted comments made all from one poster only (maybe PBP or one who commented on Punam in previous weeks?). They were casting aspersions on Chris (and how much he could see) and insinuating that Craig/Anton were fetishists/autogynephiles for dressing up as the twins from The Shining.

I didn't report any of their posts but assume others thought they were nefarious.

BehindTheSequinsandStilettos · 27/10/2024 01:43

Hope you enjoy it Reise - I usually like Halloween and think most thought tonight was decent but I was disappointed by the songs and theming.
We had some weird choices.
They never appear to do cats for Halloween despite many looking good in catsuits - I'm thinking Janet Jackson (black cat) the Cure (lovecats).
Similarly, they always want one of the following costume choices: werewolves/ghosts/vampires/devils/Frankenstein's monsters/zombies but have missed out on so many tracks that are more fitting.
Scarecrows have been done before (Jeepers creepers) but I never find them scary - someone said JB wouldn't want to go all-out as a Christian.
I appreciate even with very tired numbers (Adams family/Time warp) that they went for different characters so as not to repeat what others have done but maybe it's time they retired it.

Piggywaspushed · 27/10/2024 06:33

WGACA · 27/10/2024 00:03

She was definitely Winnie Sanderson!

Wasn't she Helena Bonham Carter's Queen of Hearts??

Simonjt · 27/10/2024 06:38

Piggywaspushed · 27/10/2024 06:33

Wasn't she Helena Bonham Carter's Queen of Hearts??

No, she was Winnie, she also had book and made clear references to him.

Piggywaspushed · 27/10/2024 06:43

Oh right, haven't seen that film but she did also look just like HBC a la Tim Burton and I thought the silly posh voice she kept doing was her being a 'queen'.

Maybe they need labels!

Piggywaspushed · 27/10/2024 06:44

Just googled - she did do the teeth thing at one point so I can see it now.

MabelMora · 27/10/2024 08:06

EsmaCannonball · 26/10/2024 20:37

'All sizzle and no sausage.' My daily letters of complaint to Vicky Gill about the fit of Vito's trousers have obviously had an effect.

I thought it would be impossible to fancy him any more but Vito looking like he's been hanging out with Byron and Shelley at the Villa Diodati has had me doing that 'half your age plus 7 calculation' and, the good news is, I am almost not a perve.

Tickled by Pete's make-up being more Billy Smart than Joaquin Phoenix but I actually, for once, enjoyed his routine.

Punam as the woman from Haysi Fantayzee
Gorka as Inigo Montoya
Kai as a bassist from a mid-eighties goth-indie band
JB and Amy as Dexy's Midnight Runner ..... Beans
Carlos as Beth Rigby

Scrub off that green paint and Aljaz could have been bidding for a lock-up on Storage Wars.

Edvard Grieg did not look like that. Katie Durham would have kicked off.

Shayne giving heartfelt speeches about finally getting to be himself while dressed like Mozart dunked in Homepride self-raising flour. ❤

Who's going to get the most inappropriate slash fanfic: Anton and Craig or Sam and Nikita?

Bless Sam but she is far too straight and earnest to pull off camp (or jokes).

No group dance opening routine and a lot of the dances felt as if they were over before they'd begun. (I am so sad that I actually tried timing a couple of them and they were about 15 seconds shorter than usual.) I'm not keen on these changes that are making the show seem too abrupt and like it's losing its identity. Is Dave Arch's band much smaller than it used to be, too?

You need to add Sarah as Cupid Stunt on the bed 😂..."It's all in the best possible taste!"

Vito though 😍. Like a tall Paul Rudd.
