You must sing it along to the tune or it won't work.

I don't know if anyone here is of the feeling this is about race. It is not.

I'd be scared of Eve although not sure how much of a ' madness' she'd create. Shame Eve is lesbian and we couldn't send her and Alex off for 2 week together. What happens when 2 nut jobs come together. Arghhh

I was listening to the MAGS Hysteria podcast earlier and they noted that (I think said that Charlene had said it previously) communication is only 7% words and 93% body language.

Alex's 93% is not good. Nor some of the 7%. But he gets away with being a nasty bully by choosing his words carefully and never actually answering a bloody question....

I listened to that today, love that podcast!

JaneJeffer · 26/10/2024 21:27

He just needs listening to & explaining just like a child
He's not a bloody child he's a grown man. Why should people have to pander to him?

dapsnotplimsolls · 26/10/2024 21:31

Welcome to the thread, Alex's Mum.

Tittat50 · 26/10/2024 21:33

@Nextdoor55 personal experiences and our own personality types feed into this probably. If you were terrorised by someone at school like Polly, and let's say you're introvert, you're going to zone in on her overt bully boy behaviour over anyone else.

I have a feeling someone like Emma wouldn't be too phased by Alex. I don't think he'd bother with her, he wouldn't try bait her like he is Sasha. The narcs go for certain people and are only successful at destroying certain people or people with a particular set of circumstances. Holly would be destroyed by him. Yes she's a fishwife. She's transparent though.

I've a feeling MAFS is going to go all weird after this because there will be a huge backlash.

Paul, Mel and Charlene probs gonna get cancelled 😆

Appalonia · 26/10/2024 23:13

I don't know why some pp are disputing whether or not Alex is abusive. Before the show even began, there were exes of his stating that he'd been abusive to them.

WonTheCup · 26/10/2024 23:43

@Appalonia possibly because this is supposed to be a No Spoilers thread? so most of us aren't looking at info outside what's shown on TV

I didn't even realise that. I did think there must have been someone out there saying he's been a horror to them! I will go have a look. I remember seeing a story about him going AWOL in order to appear on MAFS😆

Appalonia · 27/10/2024 00:26

Sorry that wasn't meant to be a spoiler! It was everywhere so I just assumed pp already knew?

Tittat50 · 27/10/2024 00:39

No, that's not a spoiler at all. I did read this other spoiler today that's had me very confused. Not ref Alex.

When / if it happens, we can dissect it on here! 😁

I don't understand a lot of these posts.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding but it feels like the comments are saying Alex is terrifying and is worse than the ladies but it's not about x, y and z. But in the same breath, it seems he's only terrifying because he's physically bigger.
So they can all gang up on Hannah and yell at her, and say look what the cat dragged in, and stick up their middle finger at her, but that's not as awful as what Alex has done??
Really?! They're fucking vile.
It's not a competition as to who is worse, and Alex being a prick doesn't take away from how shitty the girl have been.

Doubleraspberry · 27/10/2024 01:45

Surely we can say that there are multiple bad behaviours going on? It’s the minimising of Alex’s clearly troubling agression, controlling behaviour and manipulation throughout the series that I find upsetting. Not comments on the bullying that some of the women are doing. I personally though think Sasha is not in the Ollies league.

He is terrifying in a sinister way. Watching the last episode neve before have I had such an adverse reaction to someone.

I actually felt scared of him esp when he got up and walked passed staring at them with that smirk on his face. It was scary, like watching a predator stalking his prey before the kill. It's not his size it's his facial expressions and body language. He isntensed up like a coiled spring ready to pounce.

That is what is terrifying about him.

Todaywasbetter · 27/10/2024 10:32

Something weird is going on when people comment about Alex.

Do you mean on here, or when the experts comment? If the latter, I had exactly the same feeling watching Thursday's show, I think someone said the experts only get to see the dinner party footage and not how things have gone during the week? That might explain it if so. I couldn't believe how much they were backing/making excuses for Alex, the only way that would make any sense is if they'd not seen what had gone on during the week.

They're going to need to address how he's been behaving or they will lose a lot of viewers.

Totally agree. The smirking/derisive laughter is so sinister and I find it quite triggering as I've had that done to me by exes. I'm sure lots of people have experienced it from abusers. He makes me want to throw something at the TV. Am I remembering correctly that Holly's relationship history has been rocky, if so I can totally see why she's struggling with him. I think anyone would struggle with the sneering and the mocking laughter tbh.

ruethewhirl · 27/10/2024 11:10

Got the catchup show on now (even though I saw it in the week😄) Re-watching the bit where Kristina brings Kieran's dog to him, I think it's going to be so sad if it turns out they haven't made it. They clearly still care about each other so much, I'd love to see them get back on track but not holding my breath.

SilentSheldon · 27/10/2024 11:38

I don’t think anything weird is going on when people comment about Alex in a negative fashion.

They have eyes.

Tittat50 · 27/10/2024 11:58

It's because Alex has Narcissistic Personality Disorder at minimum and you and others aren't able to see it. That's quite common - hence terrifying for victims that get gaslit by everyone.

You probably know a few and don't realise it.

Most people don't have to grow up with them or ever have relationships with them so this might seem to them like a witch hunt. Their instincts aren't attuned to it. People are also very naive. This is what makes narcs and sociopaths so effective.

You're falling for the faux apologies ( isolation tactic - Sasha), the sometimes boyish vulnerability ( fake), the nice smile, boyish charm ( sometimes).

Surprised the experts won't get cancelled over all this.

menopausalfart · 27/10/2024 12:07

People are attuned to different behaviours. What triggers some won't trigger others.
No one is excusing the bullying done by Polly and her gang. I found that disturbing to watch as I abhor a pile-on and wouldn't have stood for it.
Alex is a different kind of trigger; you see it or you don't.

Tittat50 · 27/10/2024 12:22

Polpot is a beast but this week they've taken the focus off her and put it on slaphead which is why he's the focus of our chat this week.

Polly wouldn't threaten me at all. I'd want to confront her over the way she speaks to women who threaten her because I dislike it. I could manage her, it wouldn't be too difficult.

If I was young, beautiful, introvert and wasn't raised by Northern brawlers, I wouldn't be able to confront her.

Eve was very scary too and also did the scary smirking

ruethewhirl · 27/10/2024 12:28

On a completely unrelated note, I thought I'd imagined how awful Emma's tank-top type thing was in the episode where they have the melty hug or whatever it was called. I hadn't. She's really attractive but her style is so hit-and-miss!

Tittat50 · 27/10/2024 12:28

I think Eve had the potential to be worse than Alex! We just didn't get enough air time 😬

NPD ?! So a)
you’re a Doctor and can diagnose remotely.
and b)
you’re out of date on current guidance on diagnoses.
