You must sing it along to the tune or it won't work.

😁

I was listening to the MAGS Hysteria podcast earlier and they noted that (I think said that Charlene had said it previously) communication is only 7% words and 93% body language.

Alex's 93% is not good. Nor some of the 7%. But he gets away with being a nasty bully by choosing his words carefully and never actually answering a bloody question....

SunmerSazz · 26/10/2024 16:58

MAFS even....

It's actually 7% words
37% tone of voice
56% body language ( including facial expressions )
but yes, absolutely, his body language is very threatening and I think a lot of pp are picking up on it, even at an unconscious level.

SilentSheldon · 26/10/2024 17:29

You can’t edit any of those percentages.

You can’t help feeling there is something of the night about that one.

I may be completely wrong, but there's something about Caspar in the past few episodes that makes me wonder if he's actually gay.

Is it the way he licks his lips every time Gaston takes his shirt off? Good job he wasn't telling Caspar his car parking stories...

SunmerSazz · 26/10/2024 18:05

I stand corrected @Appalonia!

Brawsome · 26/10/2024 18:14

MmePick · 26/10/2024 12:05

I think they’re all bloody awful except Caspar (terrified) and Shitlid, maybe Gaston, who at least is funny and not always yelling and/or moaning. Don’t mind Amy either so far

Totally agree. I think you should be expert 2025.

I only know this cos I used to have to teach this as part of a course!

I was only joking.... honest.

RobynRB · 26/10/2024 19:15

To be completely honest I'm only watching this show for Gaston now, he's absolutely hilarious. And he seems like a nice person as well, which is more than you can say for most of the rest of these fucknuggets.

It's absolutely clear that Alex is abusive. We have seen him in action and Holly has described his behaviour behind closed doors. I don't think it's really a defence of Alex to say that other people are also abusive, though. And the fact that he's a man is relevant, because he is absolutely terrifying.

Who are you referring to as 'we' in your comment there?
I personally disagree with you I really don't think he's 'terrifying' he strikes me as emotionally stunted & immature. I also find the girls extremely unpredictable, domineering aggressive & just uncomfortable to watch

Nextdoor55 · 26/10/2024 19:31

InconsideratelyThoughtful · 26/10/2024 11:35

Not all abusers scream and shout, they wouldn't get away with so much then, would they? Yes, there has been a fair bit of shouting and bad behaviour from some of the women but that doesn't mean non-shouting Alex isn't abusive. Or dangerous.

Oh right. I see so if any of the men were behaving the way the girls are (name calling, shouting in faces, plainly abusive), you'd not think this was abuse? They'd probably be escorted off the show.
I feel like it's not about gender at all, it's about behaviour. If you think that women can't be abusive you need probably to reconsider that. There's a gender bias going on here. The girls are downright scary.

SilentSheldon · 26/10/2024 19:46

I don’t think the ‘girls’ are scary.

Gobshites? Most certainly. Fuelled by eggy production staff and a bit of fallin’ doon watter? Very likely.

I fancy I’d rather be in a room when the girls lost their tempers than with someone like him.

Been there. Nearly didn’t survive that.

It is nothing to do with sex or any other kind of bias either by the way.

The women on here are about as scary as custard.

His demeanour and countenance suggest otherwise.

Dillite2 · 26/10/2024 20:44

You have got to be wilfully ignoring what is right before your eyes not to see just how dangerous Alex's behaviour is. There is a huge difference between Polly's, Holly's, Sasha's and even Ross' shouting and displays of aggression. Alex's behaviour intimidates, is insidious, manipulates and gaslights.

Not everyone sees what you’re seeing. Although do have a lot of supporters.

MmePick · 26/10/2024 20:47

DS has observed that if you put on an accent your expert status is unquestioned

Tittat50 · 26/10/2024 20:55

You know what you're going to get with the fishwives ( Polpot/ Holly contingent).

I'd be stuck with them for 2 weeks over Alex any day of the week. They are transparent, even though pretty unpleasant at times.

When you listen to psychologists talk about narcissist's or sociopaths, you will understand why they are terrifying and destroy people. People exposed to them are often put in therapy. They are not human in my eyes. There's no bias in this; Alex just happens to be one. Whether he's as far as sociopathic, I don't know. He's narcissistic for sure.

Many of us who are seeing this so clearly have had some exposure hence seeing what others sometimes can't.

For the purposes of fairness, I will point out that Eve is also one.

People like Eve and Alex have something missing which means they aren't like the rest of us. We're all flawed. These peeps are terrifying.

100% agree.

I'm impossible to miss it.

Nextdoor55 · 26/10/2024 21:13

Oh no Sasha & Pol pot are terrifying, I'd not survive them. I'd rather not thanks. Insidious behaviour, piling on like a bunch of playground bullies. That sort of behaviour is really intimidating & infuriating at the same time.
I dunno why everyone is losing the plot over Alex,
He's just a bit of a child I'm not intimidated by that sort of behaviour. He just needs listening to & explaining just like a child. Can't say I like any of them much. But those girls have school bully vibes which can't be underestimated

How is he managing to do this? He's not clever enough, but please can you explain how different his behaviour is from the girls?
Except of course he's alone & they're like a pack of hyaenas

I mean we the viewers. It's obvious to me that Alex is abusive. His abuse has been called out by Sacha and he has gone into a full on campaign to try to isolate her. He's so scary that Holly is terrified to talk to him away from the cameras.

I dont think anyone is saying that women can't be abusive too. Eve was also an obvious abuser.

Sorry but if I was in a room with an angry two year old in the body of a massive bloke, I'd be terrified.

I have no idea why you're defending Alex after witnessing his behaviour towards the women. It sounds like you feel you need to take his side against the women.
