I've just found Riders on YT (in about 80 parts) should put me in the mood (so to speak!) nicely for tomorrow.
The riding (of the horses!) is about as bad as the acting in some parts 🙈

I can’t read Mount - have the hardback just sat there because I read the spoilers and thought it might break my heart 😄, Tackle I think is badly edited, she says it’s a long book but it’s not and it jumps all over with too many characters that don’t have context which isn’t Jilly-like.
I have a day with my oldest friend watching this tomorrow, I am so excited, it’s my favourite Jilly book, we read them behind our parents’ backs when we were about 14 and I was so in love with RCB (which explained my penchant for blond men growing up).
Rik Mayall would have been an excellent RCB, but I did like Anthony Calf as BLF in Riders (awful adaptation notwithstanding).

Ahhh, that’s right. I think there was some naked dancing in the rain with Lysander and Kitty in TMW but without the rhyme!

Ive never read any Jilly Coopers books but after watching about half of the first episode I might start.

Outdoor fucking starts today

It's when Cameron and Rupert are shagging outside , there's a huge magnolia in full flower and Cameron wants to be a bride as beautiful as the tree .
Next day the flowers are stripped off by the storm she's quite saddened ,
But not sad enough to wish Taggie would walk by on a late night dog walk and she that Rupert had met his sexual equal.

There's an article about the stars and they write about Declan and Mauds headstrong daughter Taggie.
Taggie is a wimp , the opposite of headstrong

Just on episode one....LOVING it!!! Such a romp-fest! Characters brilliantly executed and sound track is like a trip down memory lane. Absolutely so funny...over the top and really enjoying it ...so far!

Just listened to this on the back of this thread. Brilliant discussion. The thing that stood out for me was Marina said that many women who bought the books in the 80s and have shed most of their books but kept the Jilly Coopers.
That's me. I used to have wall to wall bookcases with 1000s of books. I've culled them down to two bookcases but still have all the tattered old Jilly Coopers. Mind you I just got Rivals out to tread again for the first time in over 30 years and the print is tiny. Might have to buy it on kindle.
