But Danny Dyer as Fred-Fred is perfect and Katherine Parkinson and Victoria Smurfit will be great. And Aidan Turner as Declan… I can overlook Rupert’s looks as long as the character is right. I think.

When I was a teen reading the books I always envisaged RCB to look like my biology teacher (who was gorgeous!)
Now I think that the actor who plays Jamie in GOT would be a good fit.

DH and I were discussing appropriate snacks for viewing. Obviously there will be the Sancerre to drink, poss whisky for him, but I’m thinking a plate of smoked salmon or a boeuf bourginon if I have time (need a Taggie to help out). Anyone else planning themed snacks? Or just me…?

I don't mind the casting of RCB. I am a bit worried that David Tennant is going to be a pantomime villan.

I can't watch anything with David Tennant in it, I find him unbearable.

The late D of E put me in mind when it comes to RCB, in his younger years when he was really fair.

The original Robert Palmer girls reminded me of Cameron Cook.
I can remember reading about her outfits in such admiration.

Yes I could get behind Jamie Lannister as Rupert too.

But I stand by my photo of Rik Mayall. It's the mouth I think in particular, an ever so slightly cruel humour about them that says Rupert to me. I think maybe he was playing Alan B'stard around about the time I was reading the books and that may have influenced me.

I'd recommend listening to this weeks 'The Rest Is Entertainment' podcast with Richard Osman and Marina Hyde who were absolutely raving about it

They are both avid JC readers and Marina has some insight into the writing process and what else might be coming down the line from her books.

They reckoned it could be the best tv show ever made so I have high hopes!
