I agree they'll have to introduce the Polo storyline as there isn't enough in Rivals to justify 12 more episodes, I imagine that's what the makers were alluding to when they referred to new characters. So there could be Perdita, Daisy, Ricky, Chessie, Drew, and the Alderton characters? But I don't like the idea of introducing loads of new characters, maybe only a couple to set up season 3 😁

I recall a few months ago Spain was mentioned as a shooting location, anyone else remember that? Possibly a stand in for Florida or even Argentina? If they're filming for the next 10 months it's probably going to be autumn 2026 before we see it 😟

Polo overlaps in time with the last half/third of Rivals doesn’t it? I think the wedding features.

They’ll need to adapt the opening to Polo. RFL isn’t all that sympathetic a character (understatement) and I’m not sure how Perdita’s origin story would be viewed now.
However given how they developed the Lizzie/Freddie and Gerald/Charles storylines I think they are probably up to the job.

Disney have posted a couple of pictures online Rupert and Freddie are in polo kit so it could be a cross over

Just having a summer rewatch of series 1 - sooo many things they got right. I agree they’ll have to change the RFL storyline - if they leave the son out, he gets done for drunk driving after hitting an adult but not killing them maybe…certainly some challenges. I love Polo.

Some casting news announced, including Hayley Attwell replacing the actress who plays Helen (Rupert's ex wife) so that character must be more prominent in the new episodes. Apparently they've completed filming 6 episodes of 12

I won't hear a word against Alex after seeing him at the evening with Jilly on the South Bank- he was very charismatic and charming.

Looking at all the new actors joining the cast I'm trying to guess what characters they're introducing from Polo. I saw on Instagram the cast all went to Jilly's home for a Rivals party this week...I say she knows how to entertain!

I love Alex too - the spirit of it is perfect. Trying to match the looks too closely was what they did on the tv adaptation…can’t wait!

I just got Polo for 99p on kindle. I have my original dog eared paperback but the print is so small I can't read it comfortably.

So sad to hear that the wonderful Jilly has died. I know many of us saw her on the Southbank last year and she was still funny and sharp. I'm going to rewatch Rivals and toast her with a cold Sancerre ❤️

RiP Jilly, the bonkbuster Queen. Can't begin to count how many times I read the Billy & Janet scene in Riders as a teen!!

Oh no. The Rutshire Chronicles were such a part of my teenage years and still make me smile 30 years later.
She looked very fragile last year - I was at the Southbank too - but her sense of humour remained.
RIP Jilly.

I couldn’t make the Southbank last year and was hoping she’d do another after the sequel. RIP Jilly, such a sad day.

I went to the talk and she was brilliant. So funny and extremely naughty. It’s a sad day for me.

I’m gutted. She was a legend.
