I sat down to watch this last weekend after reading the Guardian review and was so disappointed that I had to wait another week. Also a JC fan but some of her writing is a bit of it's time. I remember reading one set in a school and the some of the characters were disturbingly young.

Super excited! Rivals is my absolute favourite JC novel. I was reading it when I couldn't sleep the night before I got married & again when I was in hospital waiting for a bed to be free for dd2 to make her way into the world.
Highly recommend Marina Hyde on the rest is entertainment on the topic.

Well you need to read Riders first.

I read it in half term when I was 17 and supposed to be revising.

I think Riders has aged less well than Rivals - he's such an abusive shit in that book.

I only finished Riders last night.

I would have cast Bradley James as RCB myself. (Arthur from Merlin).

I'm so disappointed they didn't do Riders, because of the horses.

Oh, big time. Hated the horse beating in Riders but adore that book. DV in Emily but again, I love the book. It’s not that I don’t or didn’t care - even at the time of reading I hated those bits. But the books were of their time.

I love Jilly’s writing, though. She was funny and smart with it.

Rivals is my favourite Jilly Cooper book and I've had this in my calendar for ages. I cannot wait!

I'll get the washing-up machine loaded, slap on some foundation, drench myself in Fracas and pour myself a vodka and orange squash (because I've run out of tonic). I'm sure I've got a quiche in larder as well...
