It can't be worse than Salo, surely?

I doubt if that was shown on the Beeb.

Whoever called Hollie, Orville. You have changed this programme forever 😂.

You're welcome! 😄

MouseMinge · 14/10/2024 22:45

I'm going to watch Threads at some point this week. I think it's only been on four times and for reasons I've missed it every time mostly due to me being a lot younger and going out a lot. Funnily enough I missed it last week because I was out for one of a tiny handful of times this year due to being feeble with the ailments!

bumblenbean · 14/10/2024 22:49

Nah sorry I just can't get on board with Steven. Hannah's a dick but he's so bloody dramatic and petulant. They're clearly just massively unsuited. Hannah would drive me bonkers but Steven is like an uncoiled spring - one false move or innocuous comment and he's off.

It's ludicrous that Richelle and Orson are still there. She calls him an actor but what possible reason could she have to still be there if not for 'fame'? She's put absolutely zero effort in from day dot -boring or not, orson must have the patience of a bloody saint

Polly and Holly are both deluded. One's with someone who could hardly bear to touch her til a few days ago and the other is coupled up with someone who looks liable to knock her out at any moment.

Yet again the ixperts are a laughing stock (or they would be if much of it wasn't so disturbing!)

murasaki · 14/10/2024 22:50

Never seen threads, but am now intrigued, will check with DP as to whether he's see it, which is quite likely, where can I find it please? Have Netflix and Amazon prime...

Also something he likes is a good distraction before Mafs, today I made a massive homemade lasagna, and put on an episode of Ludwig before turning it over to Mafs, and got, and I quote, 'fuck's sake, I'm going to bed'.

Worked like a charm.

MouseMinge · 14/10/2024 22:51

Re Hannah, I'm not going to pretend she isn't a nightmare for one minute, but. He brought up stuff that had happened in private when they said that stuff that went on off camera wouldn't be discussed on camera. I'm not sure whether we could see what she said as a threat "Oh we're using stuff now are we, maybe I should, blah, blah, blah." but he clearly saw it as a threat or is pretending to, although given his angry hamster face I'd guess he did see it as a threat.

She shouldn't have said it but I also think it's clear she didn't mean "I'm going to do it!" Everything else aside you could beg the producers to not put it on TV. Also, he'd known her for five minutes. It's a handy rule in life to not share your deepest darkest with people you've known for a couple of days even if you're on reality TV cosplaying husband and wife.

Hannah is an obvious nightmare, he's trying to disguise how much of a ma-hoo-sive arsehole he is and I'm just not buying it.

It's on Iplayer and there are so many similarities with 2024. Funny how nothing changes.

AtlasPine · 14/10/2024 22:54

Hannah is the scapegoat of someone who can’t maintain a mature relationship. Ok she is over the top, but he is focusing on that one comment because it has given him an excuse to be totally rubbish at rupture and repair.

I hate that Nathan is still being made to feel
like he got it wrong.

Emma is hearing she’s faulty in the hardest way. I think she’s worth a million Caspers.

Alex horrifies me. My dad had this thing going on too about never vocalising negative things about real issues in the family outside the house, (but also banning us from talking about it in the house too.)

I can’t believe Richelle used the insult she did. It’s a hideous word to choose because it directly refers to someone who is learning disabled due to a condition they are born with and suffer from. She should be out for that. And for being so negative.

There are a few really nice couples on too though. Still love K&K and adore Ross and Sasha.

Adam’s turnaround is a bit… suspicious.

Thanks, will investigate as my next deflection from Mafs.....

MouseMinge · 14/10/2024 22:56

I'm tired of the whole "Sex, sex, sex, are you doing it? Sex, sex, sex, why aren't you doing it? Sex, sex, sex DO IT!

Polly is a total melt and I no longer care that she will almost certainly end up unhappy. Sucks to be you, Polly.

Alex is a scary fucker. Holly has such low expectations that's it's almost heartbreaking but like the other olly, I find it hard to care. I just hope that they do call it a day before they leave because I shudder to think what his actions might be in real life.

Richelle should do one. I don't know what in the name of fuck she wants from Orson but she treats him like shit in the hope of getting it. I wanted to like Richelle because she seemed like a mature and interesting woman but she's just a nasty, weird woman who should have full therapy before ever dating again.

We should all have therapy because we're watching this pure shite!

murasaki · 14/10/2024 22:58

Shitlid has basically given in at this point to a) stay on telly for longer , b) have a crack at someone on the retreat and c) get the ixperts off his back.

I should judge him for this, and I do a bit, but given Polly is there for profile, not that much.

MouseMinge · 14/10/2024 23:00

The only couple I really hope are still together are the two Ks. Nathan and Lacey seem to like each other but I don't see a future for them. I don't believe in Ross and Sacha. Does anyone else really like each other? I'm not into the new couples yet because they're new and Luke and Amy seem dull even if he is incredibly pretty but as I said before he looks very much like an ex of mine who was an arsehole so I can't warm to him.

LessonsinChemistryandLove · 14/10/2024 23:00

I can’t believe Caspar and Emma didn’t leave!
Polly and Adam make me so uncomfortable, they’ve practically coerced him! Polly is a weirdo

Holly is sooo vulnerable and should not be on this show. Alex’s behaviour is off, not sure I can say abusive but Holly is way too fragile for him

mrsmalaprop · 14/10/2024 23:00

I'm always an hour behind because I watch as soon as it goes up on catchup to avoid the ads and so I can skip through the boring bits and recaps. I usually end up with about a third of the show that way.

I warmed to Luke instantly when he used the term 'cheesy shenanigans'. It showed and bit of self-awareness and humour. I think I like him.

Richelle's face, though. The milk's already turned sour, love, pack it in now.

SilentSheldon · 14/10/2024 23:01

I remember Threads the first time round. It scared the shite out of me.

And also made me incredibly attentive when it came to my NBC drills.

I think I’d still be troubled by it now. I prefer not to think about the possibility.

Ross and Sascha worry me a bit. I have a sneaking suspicion that she thinks Ross is the kind of man her Dad would want her to be with. If he'd disapproved, I think he'd have been dropped with a sack of spuds. That relationship (her and Daddy) is way too intense.

The lurrrrrve declaration was dodgy.

I'm surprised Holly passed any psych assessment, if indeed there were any, and I thought they were more careful these days. And Alex should have failed as he's waving more red flags than a communist party convention.

SilentSheldon · 14/10/2024 23:05

I don’t buy declarations of love that happen within days/weeks.

Different if it is a dog. 😁

One could say Polly has coerced Shitlid into sex, which is not a good thing.

AndThereSheGoes · 14/10/2024 23:12

I agree with everything you said.

However my slant on it was that it wasn't about what the secret was but that they had had formed an alliance off camera. They initially really liked each other and I think he put up with her being a nutter thinking some of it was just for show.

Now he can only see her as out someone out for herself cos she's on telly. He's a clear second.

LessonsinChemistryandLove · 14/10/2024 23:14

Why did Orson and Rochelle stay!! I don’t dislike her but I have no idea why she’s on the show, it’s dumb.

I’ve just remembered Kieran and the loud girl. I think they annoy me so much I’ve blocked them out. I’m sure they will be very happy together but they can go home now too tbh

MouseMinge · 14/10/2024 23:18

Was Brad in the first half of MAFS last year? I started watching about half way through and I don't remember him. Or it may just be that I don't remember him.

I wonder if the ‘secret’ will be revealed, or roll on eternally to become the: ‘what happened on the fishing trip’ of MAFs.
