Was Brad in the first half of MAFS last year? I started watching about half way through and I don't remember him. Or it may just be that I don't remember him.

He was a controlling creep and eventually got chucked out. He and Shona declared their love for each other after about 3 days. Confused by the shag-haze.

menopausalfart · 14/10/2024 23:27

Brad went too far, even for the experts.

SilentSheldon · 14/10/2024 23:32

AtlasPine · 14/10/2024 23:21

I wonder if the ‘secret’ will be revealed, or roll on eternally to become the: ‘what happened on the fishing trip’ of MAFs.

I still reckon it is to do with his life with his ex wife and kids and he doesn’t want her to get any grief.

OP posts:
SilentSheldon · 14/10/2024 23:33

But he still should have kept his trap shut with a stranger.

I just went to look up Brad and Shona because her name rang a bell. I remember now, he was utterly vile.

Doubleraspberry · 14/10/2024 23:39

Almost all these people should have left the show. Some of them should be in prison, even in anticipation of future crime, Matrix-style.

JaneJeffer · 15/10/2024 00:30

I never listen to Luke is that his name and whoever she is? My brain simply refuses to acknowledge them. I couldn't tell you one thing about them. It's very strange 😂

murasaki · 14/10/2024 23:06

One could say Polly has coerced Shitlid into sex, which is not a good thing.

My husband said this show has elements of illegal coercive control.

GrimpenMire · 15/10/2024 06:40

Most of these people have 200 dollars a day syndrome and it's embarrassing for them and for us to watch.

No wonder holiday resorts are banning Brits if this is how we are or how we are perceived. Most of the contestants are incapable of regulating themselves.

If this secret of Stephen's is so touchy, why on earth is he divulging it to a total stranger that has no governance of herself in the first place. He should be angry with himself as much as he is directing it at her. How can you get to his age and have four kids and yet still be oversharing like a toddler?

Waterboatlass · 15/10/2024 07:56

I'm intrigued as to what we're not seeing re Richelle and Orson. Could just have been his willingness to comply with a production storyline. She's making herself look mad and has been very unpleasant but I don't think she's getting this from nowhere.

Caspar has been stuck clearly in a falsely grinning nightmare all along. I'm surprised it's taken this long for Emma's behaviour to be mentioned. Never a tear is shed when she cries. I know sometimes things are refilmed but it's never.

Adam still has no attraction to Polly, his expressions show it and this will cause her more hurt. His motivation for not giving her a proper chance is immature but if he couldn't genuinely move past the lack of attraction I think he should have stood by that. Perhaps hoping not to humiliate her and not look bad and deal with it later.

What interests me the most is how Luke would be if he didn't consider Amy a 'Disney princess ' and a 'Greek goddess'. Perhaps he isn't prescriptive about 'type' but I didn't like that he said he would have judged her for 'giving in' and having sex early on. Some pretty strange views about women and a lot of things, I suspect.

Hannah would drive me nuts but I really don't like Stephen.

Jimbalaya · 15/10/2024 08:57

Much as Hannah is insane, I really dislike Stephen. He made some comment along about her having to 'win him back' like he's some sort of prize, when he's just a sulky man baby with a misshapen head.

I think her “I’m going at a slow pace” is telling, because I’m not buying that she actually does like him. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t have a private agreement between themselves to present well and stay in, for the exposure. But they can’t pretend they’re physical because the body language isn’t there for that. It all just seems very phony to me.

Seriestwo · 15/10/2024 09:04

Did Mrs Ross give him a book on sign language? What the fuck does he need that for?

He clearly hears well enough to catch what the male ixpert whispered on the couch and his speech is clear, if a bit impacted by his deafness.

That was crass “we can learn together” - what for? He communicates perfectly well. I mean, all he says is “I think she’s lovely”, but still, few of us can have everything.

Mrs Ross wants to move away from Daddy Dearest. Don’t blame her.

I wonder if he’ll miraculously thaw out if it’s pointed out to him how he’s coming across? At the moment the ixperts are all about how she’s done wrong, so it’s fanning his flames. A bit like Casper and Emma, now they’re empathising with him having given him a hard time, it’s all flipped.

I think Hannah is a crackpot and I’m not exaggerating to say I couldn’t spend 5 minutes in the same room with her, but that sulky win-me-back face would be enough for me.

Doubleraspberry · 15/10/2024 09:11

Stephen makes my skin crawl and has since the honeymoon. He and Alex give off the same vibes.

I wouldn't be surprised if they've agreed to ham it up for a bit of exposure now they're there and have had a free jaunt to the Bahamas or wherever. They're only doing half way, her dad is very ill and she presumably doesn't want a load of stress. Probably thinking 'whats the point in making a big deal of it?' are they miles apart anyway? He's probably hoping they can keep it up until he gets panto work

I think Shitlid's holding on for the couples' retreat and a bit of swinging.

I think they all are 🤣

I think the ixpirts are scared of Alex

Just catching up. I agree. Why don't they pull him up on this intimidating behaviour

They're probably afraid he'll stare them to death or blind them when the sun bounces off his ridiculous forehead

@Tittat50 "I agree that Nafe and Lacey are the only couple I have any investment in, although I wonder whether Nathan is part of some MKUltra experiment because he doesn't seem to know where he is or who he is."
That made me snort.
He does look bewildered! I think Lacey has to remind him where he is every morning.

Tittat50 · 15/10/2024 12:06

This is a genuine question - is the word cretin really offensive to disabled people? I have to admit that I never knew this I'm afraid yet use it regularly in reference to poor substandard behaviour - not disabled peeps' mockery.

I saw another post on here about Richelle and the word she used. Just saw it and I have in total coincidence used the same word.

Was having a shite haircut one of the producers requirements for the men this year?

It was for her to learn. He already uses sign language when he's with people who understand it.

menopausalfart · 15/10/2024 12:17

@Tittat50 It's not in the same league as Retard, but it's not very nice to hear.My daughter has Down Syndrome so when people use medical terms as an insult, it does tend to cause upset.
