Exactly what I said. So why bring Emma’s weight into it? He could have just said that. There was no need for her weight to even be mentioned. Does anyone bother reading previous posts round here?

But he did say the sister thing first, she kept asking then he said he likes petite woman or whatever. Why can’t he not be into curvy woman? I’m not necessarily petite but I don’t like big men, is that bad? He’s not been tactful, he’s clearly annoyed but I don’t think he’s done anything that wrong tbh

The excuses for Caspar here are amazing. No wonder men get away with entitled, narcissist behaviour. They’re enabled by internalised misogyny.

Yeah this. ^ Caspar thinks he deserves sooooo much better than Emma, and he doesn't because he is a 4 out of 10 at best. She is a 7-8 out of 10. He's vile. In every way.

Those who are Team Emma, totally respect your position and I'm interested in the division of opinion here.

Assuming things are roughly as we've seen on screen and allowing for some producer and post production interference, as we don't know the full truth of what was said and when:

What do you think Caspar should have said when asked by Emma whether he found her attractive and if asked whether he found curvy/ non petite women attractive?

The thing is - like with that little toad Adam, Caspar thinks he is more worthy/totally superior to the woman he has been saddled with. Caspar wants a woman with size 6 perfect supermodel looks. And Adam wants a Megan Fox lookalike. They BOTH want very slim and petite women.

But the fact is they are both very unattractive men. They're portly with dad-bods, they're less than average looking, they're boring, and they're arrogant. And Adam has stupid teeth and comedy hair. These women are 'curvy/plump' and they are mortified that the MAFS programme makers paired them up with 'fat' women. (Their thoughts, not mine!) Because these men think they deserve 'better' than that. In their eyes, no matter how pretty or nice a woman is, she is undatable and unworthy if she's curvy/fat.

Personally, if I was Emma - or Polly - I would throw in the towel now. I would not be so desperate for these clearly arrogant, pig-headed, unattractive, repugnant men to fancy me. I'm worth more than that!

I am still baffled that Adam shagged Polly on the first night though. I thought he didn't fancy her. Am I missing something?

.

Have to agree to disagree. Men who look like Caspar and Adam - (both 4 out of 10s IMO, and very unattractive - ) have no right to demand a beautiful, slim, and stunning woman. I mean they can wish and hope, but they are deluded. A woman who looks like Megan Fox or Michelle Keegan wouldn't touch Caspar or Adam with a barge pole. They would go for much more fit and physically attractive men. Caspar and Adam haven't even got a nice personality.

Dillite2 · 29/09/2024 16:38

I think that there's a an absolutely truckload of projection going on when it comes to Casper. Unlike Adam, who has said some utterly vile things, all that Casper has done is, when pressed for an answer, say that he prefers petite, brunette women. He didn't make it about Emma's weight, she did. Being petite doesn't mean thin, it can be that he prefers the women to be shorter than him- currently both of them are the same size width and length wise.

I will be happy to change my opinion if next week we are shown something that hasn't been shown so far.

Yumyi · 29/09/2024 16:42

Did Casper says he prefers petite? I thought he said “I rarely go for the more curvy woman”

Waterboatlass · 29/09/2024 16:43

Caspar wants a woman with size 6 perfect supermodel looks

has he said that? Or just that he prefers a petite brunette? Petite means of a small stature. Women can be any size or look any way and be petite. He might be happy with a perfectly ordinary woman with dark hair and a small build.

It was Adam who specified he wants someone 'unreal' looking. Which he is not. I think people are really conflating the two.

Yumyi · 29/09/2024 16:43

I am undecided on if Casper has done anything “wrong” . I feel editing may have a lot to do with how he is coming across

Doubleraspberry · 29/09/2024 16:47

I don’t see the fact that he said he rarely goes for curvy women as his ‘crime’. I think he’s being pretty unpleasant to Emma in general: on the couch he said some pretty uncompromising things it would take a strong person not to internalise. Being paired with her is ‘fucking with his life?’. How would that feel to hear? It’s entirely likely too that she is really not understanding how profound the issue with his sister is so only has her appearance to go on as a rationale. And frankly, if he genuinely thinks this is hopeless and he’s so miserable, why the hell is he writing ‘stay’?

Italiangreyhound · 29/09/2024 16:48

"I think the Casper, Emma match on paper was quite a good one. He seems really negative and withdrawn, sometimes people like that are raised up and appreciate having someone loud and positive. It can be complementary. I imagine that the experts doing the matching don’t go as far as meeting families before choosing a match? The fact that Emma is so much like Caspar’s twin is just unfortunate or do people think it was premeditated for the drama?"

I really hope it was not at all premeditated. Because if it was it is horrible. I think when Casper said they were 'fucking with his life' or whatever; I wonder if he has suspected this was somehow planned. I really sincerely hope not.

Polly (saddled with Adam Shitlid) reminds me of Adele circa rolling in the deep

oh yes I can totally see that. I found it so odd seeing her draped over him. He's pretty grim.

Waterboatlass · 29/09/2024 16:56

I think they plus Eva and Charlie are being massively edited. I think 'youre fucking with my life' might've been an outburst after a long session.

I read something quite new from Olivia, the villain from MAFSAU and obv don't know whether I fully believe her but others have corroborated parts. Apparently when she said 'i don't have any empathy in me' that was a result of being worn down by a long couch session being pushed in that direction and she eventually relented.

I feel like substantive conversations have mostly been said with a lot of patching together, but dramatic bits like that that may be taken out of context for effect. It's so weird but addictive

Italiangreyhound · 29/09/2024 17:02

Waterboatlass
I agree.

Doubleraspberry
Yes, the whole thing is very manipulated. The people in the show are manipulated, I am sure they are told to ask the questions they ask. I mean seriously who asks did I look sexy in my wedding dress! So the 'cast' are manipulated and we the view are manipulated.

*BIossomtoes8

". Anyone with half a brain and a pinch of empathy would understand that. Emma definitely would, she’s met his sister.2 But she doesn't seem to understand why that gives him the massive ick. And he has said it.

And maybe she reminds him of his sister and he is not into curvy women, it could be two things!

I think it is 100% fine for men not to like curvy women, and vice versa. and it is not misogynistic.

Donke9

"...completely identify with her, it is next to impossible to find someone that is ‘better’ than being independent and free to live your life as you wish..."

So why go on what is effectively a dating show?

WeregoingtoIbiza · 29/09/2024 17:08

I think Casper was very rude to sit on the couch and say he can't understand how he has got here (meaning with his wife). He wasn't bothered about her feelings

He and Adam seem to think this is a dating agency where they give the experts their requirements and are found someone that fits. Not that that are matched on other characteristics.

LessonsinChemistryandLove · 29/09/2024 17:12

Yea I mean Adam is a dickhead for sleeping with her but I don’t think either if the men have said, I deserve x or y. Ultimately, they’re allowed to find whatever they like attractive imo. Does beg the question as to why you would go on a show where you don’t get to meet your bride though, if it’s so important to you.

I don’t get the women’s responses though, why would you just not call it a day. I suspect that decision is out of their control which is really unfair.

I think the producers have messed up the matching this year. No one seems particularly well suited and I haven’t warmed to anyone really.

I honestly do not think that is true. Adam was very wowed by Lacey and I wouldn't say she was petite, she is also curvy.

I think 'not my type' is shorthand for 'I don't fancy you.' and the only reason a short-hand is needed is becalms the contestants are constantly pressured to say to their partner and the experts why they don't fancy the pants of their 'match'!

I don't think the guys necessarily think they deserve a wonderful women, they want what they want. They will get it, or settle or live along. but it doesn't make them toads or all the other awful things they are being called on here.

It's offensive that women should have to talk men into fancying them. being fancied by a man is not a feminist goal, to my knowledge!

Italiangreyhound · 29/09/2024 17:15

don't fancy the pants off their 'match'!

Italiangreyhound · 29/09/2024 17:16

They will get it, or settle or live alone.

Bloody typos!

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 29/09/2024 17:44

This. ^ Even though a few posters disagree, I believe that Adam and Caspar (as I said) are under this weird and bizarre illusion that they deserve something much better than Polly and Emma. ie, a slim and petite 'teeny tiny' little woman that they can display on their arm. What they are NOT seeing is that they are below average, very basic males, with nothing to offer a women except a dad bod, stupid hair, laughable teeth, horrible personalities, and a severe superiority complex.

I'm a 50-something overweight woman with very few assets, just a few grand in the bank, unmanageable curly/wavy hair, and a pretty basic dress sense. I can't cook/won't cook, and am a bit lazy around the house. I would like to date Harry Styles. Is he going to date an overweight woman 25 years older than him who CBA to cook, has mad hair that looks like Monica from Friends when it's humid, and wears Asda George jeggings and Tesco's 'F & F' T-shirts? Is he fucking heck as like! 😆

Same scenario. Basic boring average male with NOTHING to offer a woman - wants a woman who looks like Megan Fox or Michelle Keegan. All the LOLz!!!

Donke9 · 29/09/2024 18:00

It is a strange thing, these men don’t recognise that they are not attractive themselves. Using Adam’s crude measurements, Nathan is a 8/9 but Adam is a 3/4. The only nice thing about him is his name and I suppose at least he is employed, not a drug addict/alcoholic. I’m struggling to see that he has much else to offer.
