An American Smooth to Parklife is a bit odd.

What is the reference to shoe sniffing with Sarah and Vito.... ITT confused

In the launch show Sarah said she really wanted Vito as her partner, she found his shoes in the costume area and sniffed them whilst manifesting her desire to be paired with him. So she thinks she sniffed their partnership into being.

Are we doing a video thread this year? Happy to start one if people want it.

As an explainer, people on the app find that too many videos make the thread load slowly so last year we set up a separate thread just for videos.

I would love it to go back to chachacha and waltz in week one and two, with half doing one and half doing the other per show. I guess they decided it was too boring but it's more boring or disappointing to watch people who might be able to learn failing badly at a dance that is just too difficult for a beginner. The waltz and chachacha aren't particularly easy but easier than some of the dances and then the playing field is level.

Yep and it means that we are robbed of potentially brilliant dances if good celebs are given challenging dance early doors because they might do an OK job but if they cemented the basics first they could have a more complex dance later on.

What is the new obsession with American smooths to totally unsuitable music? No doubt Nick and Luba will be told their dance didn't resemble an AS (if Nick is able to dance) because the music isn't at all right.

Toya has no hope of moving up from the bottom of the table with a jive but she won't be alone in not doing a great dance, I can see a few on that list that are probably going to be quite painful to watch.

I don't think anyone should be allowed to dance to Misty Blue. Danny & Oti's American Smooth to that is my all-time favourite dance.

It was brilliant! Can't be outdone, especially Oti's flying leap at the end and Danny's handstand.

Oti's fabulous rumba with Kelvin to Ain't No Sunshine is also going to be hard to live up to.
Not to mention Pasha and Ashley's cha cha to Boogie Wonderland!

Lots of big shoes to fill. I hope no women go home.

Why the heck are they trying to do rumba in week 2! To Oti and Kelvin's Ain't No Sunshine as well. It doesn't seem that long ago when they did it, and it is going to be a tough act to follow.

Also agree that they shouldn't do American Smooth to Misty Blue, again another tough one to follow because of Oti and Danny. It's sacrilege!

Poor Toya. Even in the trailer, she looked clumsy and struggling, but I hope she actually manages to pull out a surprise performance from somewhere and is just playing us.

Blue Danube is a traditional choice for the Viennese Waltz so I hope Wynne gets to look elegant this week rather than silly.

I'm usually very nervous about an early samba, but I think Montell has the attitude and confidence to pull it off.

= Shayne - fast for a tango. Same as AS and paso, I'd like traditional music. But I like Teddy Swims and suspect this is geared for Shayne's comeback. With the much-used chess game pieces being flung to the floor again.
