Chris was amazing given how complex that must be to learn and perform. He won't ever be the best but I'm interested to see how far he can go.

We enjoyed it. It’s still the only program that my 20 something DD’s watch as a family.

I feel so sorry for Neil, he finally^^ got a partner and now she's lining up to be the first out 🤦‍♂️

I loved Wynn but then I'm always a sucker for the novelty acts.

My to three tonight...
Wynn, Sarah and JB although I did think Chris did incredibly well. That move where she did a handstand and he played her legs like a guitar had the potential to go horribly wrong.

I can't understand why Kai is without a partner, he was manoeuvring himself into every shot tonight.

I was just trying to catch up with the dances I missed last night and noticed Sarah and Vito's is not available for some reason...

I wonder whether this is going to be a significant disadvantage to them, especially for week one when there's a real tussle to attract the attention (and later votes) of the audience.

I don't think Hamza has vanished. He's still doing what he used to do isn't he? I see his name pop up occasionally.

Pete was fine and did a better paso than a lot of men have done on the show. Think they are setting him up for a journey storyline.

I noticed that too. I like to rewatch the dances on a Sunday (because, let's face it, the chances of getting distracted by Gorka's trousers or Vito's chest the first time around is high). I wonder if is just a mistake or if some kind of rights issue came up? The song has been used for a quickstep at least twice before (unfortunately) so it would be odd if it were related to that.

I noticed that too, all the others are. It would be a shame if she got voted out early for lack of popularity because it looked like she's going to be a good dancer.

Now watching.. Toyah was bloody awful... Loved Tasha.

he just hasn’t done anything more with his career. normally they use the opportunity to step up a gear, but clearly he’s happy doing what he’s doing – which is great, just unusual

She won't be in danger for weeks. Dancers on the top half of the leaderboard don't need votes until Halloween, by which point the fact that her week 1 dance wasn't on YouTube will be long forgotten.

I'm with Anton, I don't think he's got any musicality. Unless he had a catastrophic nerves issue on the night it's not recoverable.

I thought him looming behind Johannes in Montell's post match interview was very funny. Strong "It Should Have Been Me!" vibes.

Seeing Katya there reminded me of lovely nigel and how I wished they'd been able to keep going last year.

That was a loong slog needed the recap as felt had forgotten most of them.
Loved the opening dance and Claudia's outfit

Louis Smith suddenly "got it" in the musicality stakes though. I remember him suddenly working out how to perform.

That said, I don't think Pete is a likely winner, I just think he does have the potential to improve from this week.

Loved getting the feel of everybody last night. Favourite was Sarah and Vito, but also liked Mojo, Wynn and Chris was great. Petes oaso had me rewatching Nigels paso in week one. I loved his.

Oh I don't know. I've just gone back and watched Louis' first week cha cha, and while he's dead from the neck up, he's got rhythm, a sinuous hip action and great arms. He's recognisably dancing, he's just not selling it. If you asked "can this man be taught to dance really well in the next 13 weeks?" then everyone would have said yes.

Umm what?

He is still working as a presenter/wildlife journalist. Which is his job.
