TV PACE THREAD. NO SPOILERS AS IT WILL BE ON I-PLAYER

The BBC teases: "Nightsleeper is a real-time thriller set on a sleeper train travelling from Glasgow to London, while a government agency desperately tries to intervene in the rapidly-escalating events onboard.

"Can two people who’ve never met, one on the train and one not, work together to save the lives of its disparate group of passengers as the Heart of Britain service hurtles towards what might quite literally be its final destination?"

"Abby Aysgarth, the Acting Technical Director at the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre, is finally about to take a well-earned holiday when she receives a phone call that will change everything - the UK railway network is under attack.

Meanwhile Joe Roag, an off-duty cop onboard and hoping for a quiet night. However, over the next six rollercoaster hours, Joe’s about to get anything but, as he and Abby battle both their own distrust and the unpredictable behaviour of the person or persons now in control, desperate to try and stop the Heart of Britain from reaching the end of the line, in more ways than one…"

Joe Cole, who's appeared in hit gangster dramas Peaky Blinders and Gangs of London, plays off-duty cop Joe Roag, while Alexandra Roach, whose screen credits include C4 drama No Offence and period piece Sanditon, stars as cyber security boss, Abby Aysgarth.

The series also stars Alex Ferns (The Devil’s Hour), Sharon Small (The Bay), James Cosmo (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), David Threlfall (Shameless), Daniel Cahill (The Control Room) and Lois Chimimba (Vigil).

While an impressive cast is completed by Gabriel Howell (The Fence), Katie Leung (Harry Potter), Leah MacRae (Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything), Ruth Madeley (Years and Years), Adam Mitchell (Mother’s Day), Pamela Nomvete (Andor), Scott Reid (Maxine), Sharon Rooney (Jerk) and Parth Thakerar (Gangs of London).

Why and how did cosmo who can hardly walk manage to leap across the massive gap as they were trying to uncouple the 2 carriages whyyyy, just to get his blinking watch?! Or did I miss something?

Lady in shiny pink dressing gown goes with whoever is telling her their latest theory.

Still gripping though, if very silly. Surely there's an exit button for interview rooms it would be a bit of a risk in emergencies if not.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/09/2024 22:33

He wanted his watch @Gloriia

But yes Not sure how they all missed him jumping it

Guessing they will find the second satellite phone on this part of the train

butterpuffed · 30/09/2024 08:25

Abby no longer looks permanently scared , she looked defiant when she was being interviewed . They all seem a bit hopeless in that Department .

I missed the very beginning ~ saw drunken man had been shot but not who shot him...?

Ellerby83 · 30/09/2024 09:26

Joe shot him accidentally. Billy dragged him back/jostled him so he wouldn't shoot his boyfriend and the gun went off.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2024 09:29

So last one tonight ....

Will the train stop

Wasn't the original journey 3/6hrs so all this has happened in very little time

OP posts:
Gloriia · 30/09/2024 11:19

Is Cosmo and Joe-wuhhh in the engine part? Will they carry on at 100mph while the others slow to a stop?

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2024 11:34

Yes that's my thoughts. Plus slowing down train have the satellite phone

Equally they never found out who the second phone belonged to and it may be on their little fast engine part now

Tho so we still have a baddie on the train

Now we know the hidden bloke was just a gay bf

Trev /booEy ma. Won't die as on slowing down train

Obv the boy mouse (what a name anyway ) had to jump and be on the fast train with jo

OP posts:
Ellerby83 · 30/09/2024 14:11

There are a few on the fast train arent there? Joe, Mouse, two train employees, Cosmo, sad daughter in law. Anyone else?

ciderhouserules · 30/09/2024 14:14

Oh God, why am I still watching it? It's like a fascination of the utterly crap.

Why oh why did old grumpy chap uncouple the train and then GO INTO THE FRONT PART? Why didn't everyone then say -'ok mate, you're on your own'? Why did the child jump? ARE THEY ALL STUPID?

Why did no one think - oh you know the laptop in Abby's apartment - it could be HER FLATMATE's'?

What would have happened if Abby had picked up the coffee cup in front of the Martin Lewis-lookalike? To hear it clatter? Surely it would have been cold even if it had been coffee by then anyway?

Is the Pink lady the PM? Is she a female Boris? She is hopeless. No leadership in her acting at all. (Just like Boris in fact)

I'm literally only watching to see how it ends. Only one more crappy episode to go.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2024 14:37

I didn't think it could be her flatmates

As didn't know she had a flatmate who worked with her

Obv I wasn't paying attention

Yes they are all stupid. Why did Joe even try to shoot the gay stowaway? What was the point he didn't have anywhere to go, he would've been easy to catch even if he was a techno terrorist.

Still baffled by the conversation room not having an exit button, surely a breach of employment rules.

I'm not sure why I'm still watching it's so bad it's good. We just need Jill halfpenny in her blanket coat to pitch up and add to the circus.

MollyRover · 30/09/2024 18:29

Why do they all keep acting the hero running after eachother on the train??? Can't stop watching either Confused

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/09/2024 18:57

You can't say you Arnt intrigued by it
