Nice new thread for when the old one wears out.

It's awful.

Aaron isn't a great parent.

All Nicolette did was keep a diary in effect and she cared for Isla as normal

I think Jane is very foolish

suburburban · 11/09/2024 13:45

Jane shouldn't be controlling her own daughter like this

suburburban · 11/09/2024 13:47

It's not Jane's call to dictate

Where is Toady for legal advice for Nicolette

NymphInYellow · 11/09/2024 14:06

Old Nic would definitely have taken Isla with her.

I have never liked Aaron either. He was mean to Chloe, and David always looked so sulky and sad around him because Aaron had to have his own way about everything.

I don't know why the producers want to keep Jane. There can't be anyone out there who likes her character. They should have sent her to be with Mike.

I suspect Jane is a fixture until Annie Jones wants to leave. I doubt they'll axe a character from the golden era.

They need to inject a bit of fun into her though. Jane's constant air of disappointment and disapproval is tiresome.

And I'm someone that loved Jane back in the golden era and was really excited when she returned.

anotherlevel · 11/09/2024 17:28

Hi! Hope it's ok to join in too!

I'm not keen on the new Nicolette. I've not warmed to her at all! But I do think she has been hard done by in this list business. Jane asking her to leave is a bit OTT in this situation I feel!

Talking of new replacements, I still haven't warmed to Nell either. Her acting is just awful - though she has gotten a bit better since the return.

SleepingStandingUp · 11/09/2024 18:28

I'm so glad we're all in agreement with this. I'd have said fine, Isla pack a case, we're moving on!! Aaron has a list, it's just in his head. The only bad Mom here is Jane

MiddleClassProblem · 11/09/2024 18:29

Neighbours are trying to gaslight us into thinking this is a totally reasonable response to a deleted note

NemesiaPinkLagoon · 11/09/2024 22:06

I was with Amira today when she said "what exactly has Nicolette done?"
It's a pretty grim storyline, I wonder what they're working towards. If it's a custody battle who will represent them with Toadie and Mackenzie heading off?!

ArabellaFishwife · 11/09/2024 22:11

I suppose it's one way to introduce a new lawyer onto the street. They would show their true worth by effecting a miraculous reconciliation.

The only other lawyer I can think of is Tim Collins. I can’t remember where he went after his daughter was engaged to Paul (but then left and married Tyler irl).

my gut says this all just a plot to do with filling the shared house and Nicolette getting a job at Harold’s or Nicolette and Byron taking over Harold’s written in the most high school way.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'd have 100% said, "Fine. But Isla's coming with me and now I am very glad I got this stupid list back. Motherf**kers!" But that's just me. 😀

gretathegremlin · 12/09/2024 08:16

Jane being a dictator and all-round appalling mother aside, what about Leo? Why does he get to hold Nic and Byron's investment over them like a punishment constantly? "If you do something I don't like I WILL make you silent partners and I WILL force you to sell your share of the business back to me... once I have some money."

MiddleClassProblem · 12/09/2024 09:03

It’s all utter madness!

Also mad today is when you have $10k to hand into the police you decided to do it in a pub…

anotherlevel · 12/09/2024 09:44

Is Toadie really asking Hugo if he wants to move like he has a choice of whether he can stay or go? Do kids not move with their parents when they move? Or are we allowed to relinquish our responsibilities onto someone else.

BareBelliedSneetch · 12/09/2024 12:39

And why would anyone tell Karl and Susan about Holly talking to the police. She’s an adult. There’s no reason to DoB her in to her dad surely?

suburburban · 12/09/2024 14:06

Wendy should mind her own business

SleepingStandingUp · 12/09/2024 19:53

Yeah I'm glad Byron has her back at least. I actually couldn't watch the stuff with Nic and titch when Jane was talking, it was just so wrong and painful.

Notice Nov has her whenever she's not at Kindy the next day so she's still doing the brunt of the childcare??

Wendy is way to interfering. Clearly she's only handed in part of what she found - the compromise. Holly is an adult! I thought she might move into the house share actually. I guess she could, it's a 4 bed?

MiddleClassProblem · 12/09/2024 22:04

4 bed, 8 bed, 12 bed… who’s counting?

NoDishiForRishi · 13/09/2024 07:43

S poilers for episodes aired back in 2020!

So I decided to watch a couple of episodes from when Nicolette first arrived back in 2020 and by the bloody hell Jane is a TERRIBLE mother! She hadn't seen her for about 10 years prior because when Nicolette was coming out she didn't support her because she was worried about what her Nan would say and when Nicolette expressed concern about Jane's marriage to Des and they got into an argument and she told her to get out and never come back.

Nope. Straight down the well for you Jane Harris!

No wonder nicolette does everything she can to protect her own child. I'm not sure why Jane thinks she has the authority to dictate what is best for Isla. I'm not sure either Aaron or Jane could or should be able to stop Nicolette taking Isla with her. If thay was my mum I'd tell her to get stuffed. Surely having both parents under the same roof is what's in Isla's best interests, not having her mother living across the street with no explanation as to why.

Rummikub · 13/09/2024 21:35

That makes sense about Nic doing all she can to protect her child. No idea why she's letting jane dictate what happens as is definitely be playing the bio card.

Finally Haz has some life in him right before leaving!

Loved the banter between Paul and Terese.

Rummikub · 13/09/2024 21:36

Oh and Neighbours is number 2 most popular on free vee. Hopefully that means it's place is assured beyond these 2 years.

MiddleClassProblem · 17/09/2024 07:33

I thought Mac’s dress was beautiful and she looked stunning but I briefly though she shad a nasty mole on her back then realised it was the exit wound which should probably have a dressing on there.

I also can’t fathom why Harold walked her down the aisle and not Toadie. Sure he’s been an idiot recently but he hasn’t don’t anything to her and he was a surrogate dad to her. They really have sucked all the personality and connections out of him. Surely a big emotional role like walking her down the aisle would have been a better story?

Also Andrew’s policing and powers are comical (and I kinda love it).

gretathegremlin · 17/09/2024 08:16

Mac's dress looked better than the pre-release photos suggested. I also thought she had a massive mole before realising it was the bullet exit wound 😆

I see Andrew searched Wade's cubicle thoroughly. Quick pat under the mattress, job done.
