Incoherent is a great word for the Opening Ceremony but I have enjoyed watching sports around Paris. Favourite staging for me was the equestrian events with Versailles in the background.

The Olympic flame is always transported in a miners lamp. I once read that it had to travel in one for the flight to the next destination as it can’t be naked.
