one of the reasons why the 2012 opening and closing ceremonies were so good is because of incredible back catalogue of fantastic music by British artists. Only America can get close to that.

performers at the 2012 closing ceremony included The Who, Queen, George Michael, Take That, Spice Girls, One Direction, Annie Lennox, Kaisier Chiefs, Pet Shop Boy,s Liam Gallagher and many others. There was also recorded performances by the likes of Kate Bush and David Bowie.

Quite amazing really.

France on the other hand, has Jean Michel Jarre, Daft Punk and Celine Dion...

I get that they are creating the Olympic rings, but, it's taking a very long time

I've never watched a closing ceremony before. Are they all as slow as this? I may have to give up.

Best bit so far was the song at the beginning and the karaoke. Right now I just want the Spice girls to gatecrash this in their London cabs
