Let’s hope it’s better than the opening ceremony!

Starts at 7 pm on BBC 1.

Alex Yee will be carrying the GB flag.

I loved the opening ceremony - and the whole games - and am enjoying the closing ceremony too!

It's so easy to be an armchair moaner!

I too have found it very enjoyable with all its imperfections and controversies. It’s been tres fun!

I know Graham Norton is the king of Eurovision but could they possibly find a place for Andrew as a prince in waiting? He’s so good and has the languages.. and the gentle sarcasm required!

He would be great. Grin

What have the Netherlands done wrong?

Let a convicted child rapist represent them in beach volleyball.

Nice to thank the volunteers. I know someone who went and it was at great financial cost!!

Several of my fellow games makers went to Rio and some were planning to go to Tokyo before Covid hit. I know a few who are planning on LA and Brisbane too

Bruisername · 11/08/2024 21:08

I wish they had put names on screen

Newgirls · 11/08/2024 21:08

Persephonegoddess · 11/08/2024 21:09

@Newgirls I thought it was him!

GrouchyKiwi · 11/08/2024 21:09

Allison Felix is great.

JewelleryCat · 11/08/2024 21:09

The real show now

memoriesofamiga · 11/08/2024 21:09

I wish they would shut up about how many mothers competed for GB. How many fathers competed? It's like a surprise that mums of young children have the capacity to compete or something. Rubbish.

TellyUsername · 11/08/2024 21:09

The crowd look bored rigid

LilacCatt · 11/08/2024 21:10

Sorry, what's a games maker?

To be fair, recovering from pregnancy and child birth can be very difficult.

Personally speaking my body was ruined by giving birth so to become an Olympian as a mother is awe inspiring to me.

Willmafrockfit · 11/08/2024 21:10

i miss andrew cotter when it is steve cram commentating on the athletics, which it often is

AnnaMagnani · 11/08/2024 21:10

God I hope we're going to see something 'really special' Hazel because I'm really bored right now.

True but let’s not forget the physicality of birthing a baby and how long it takes your body to get back into shape there after (that’s not me being mean, it’s just fact) I think that’s the point they’re making!

Having babies takes it's toll on your body, it's not quite the same for men

Halsall · 11/08/2024 21:11

So is this now the show they’ve had to hastily re-organise several times since the outcry over the opening ceremony?
