So, currently broadcast (and just caught up with) Friday 2nd August. Recap:

Lauren - given birth to baby boy at 24 weeks after Joel hid labour inducing drugs in her soup
Jack - been charged with arson with intent to endanger life (Hope seemed pleased!)
Paul - going to donate his corneas to MND research, much to Bernie's dismay
Beth - lost box of fake t-shirts and told Carla where to stuff her job

What else?

I get really fed up with the way Kit is always just passing by or snooping around every corner. Much like Stephen. And Joel.

Rowan pops up round every corner too. Where does he live?

I thought Beth actress had medical issues?
Im not in the uk but I think cooling off only applies to online or phone things? But handing over money with no paperwork is a bit dodgy. At least an emailed receipt would be issued by Willow?

I don't think there's a cooling off period for throwing your money down the drain 😆Tracy has so far been a disappointment.

It was a ridiculous exit for Beth but never mind, at least she has gone.

And it looks like the Joel and Rowan plots are drawing to a close, I am hoping after that things improve.

Beth moving to the same place/factory that Fiz was whisked off to is one unbelievable story but hearing Carla say she gave Beth a good reference when not ten minutes ago she sacked her for using the machines etc to make fake designer stuff just confirms that the writers are off their heads with excuses for characters leaving. 🙄🙄🙄

To the pp re Rowan actor- his interview was just a short piece on one of the news programmes but I can't remember which one. Just Google the actor though and you'll find it. 🤞

Someone said Beth actress was leaving due to medical issues? She's actually off to do a pantomime season, as Fairy Godmother or something, bet she's looking forward to it!

Anyone else wondering about the whole Jenny and Daisy paying Carla the money they stole to buy the Rovers storyline or has that been put on the back burner for now?

It was definitely mentioned by Jenny this week, i can't remember the context but it was in a conversation between Jenny and Daisy. It stuck with me as I had almost forgotten about that whole thing!

Anyone else really happy to see Steve with more backbone last night? The way he stood up for Amy, talking about going to the police.
Such a shame he found out about the whole Oliver thing. I know Leanne's been grieving but has she ever thought about how Steve's been getting through it all? What happened to his fundraising for Mitochondrial disease?

Paying Carla back was mentioned by Jenny to Daisy as a reason they need to keep Kit as a paying lodger.

Beth's exit was a 'scribble this down on the back of an envelope and get rid of her asap' job. They just couldn't be bothered with anything convincing (I can't really blame them).

One thing I liked last night was that they showed Jenny in the Rovers kitchen, I can't remember the last time we saw the kitchen. The Rovers does have a bit more life about it now.

@KeepSmiling89 I agree it was nice to see Steve behaving normally and like a dad to Amy rather than the giggling, face-contorting imbecile he has turned into of late. I know that him and Tim are something of a comedy double act but they often come across as a right pair of fools!

I love Amy, she acts well in an understated way. The devastation on her face at the police station was really sad. I'm hoping Adam will get involved and try getting the money back.

Still loving Nick and Toyah, I think they have good chemistry, the affection between them feels so genuine whereas Nick / Leanne is so staid and forced, like a very long-term, well past it's sell-by-date relationship. Looking forward to when all is revealed.

I agree it was ridiculous Kirk did not go with her. The only storylines he's had have involved breaking up/getting back with Beth.

I want the Rowan storyline wrapped up now. Having said that, I've previously banged on about disliking gangster/drugs storylines so it's been a welcome change. A different kind of baddie. And Rowan actor has been perfect for the part.

How Kirk stays in is beyond me awful character.

Yeah, the parents of the actor who plays Rowan were drawn into a similar cult some years ago. Weird how the actor (Emrhys Cooper) got to play the role of a cult leader.

I'm enjoying the cult story line & think slimy Rowan is great in the part.
I much prefer it to the other current story lines.
