Anyone else watching? It’s all kicking off at 6:30pm, apparently with the athletes parade first.

London 2012 OC was remarkable, I’m hoping the French can match that magic!

French tv’s comment when the british team arrived: « and the weather is typically british » 😂

I think it is a shame we can’t see their outfits properly, like when they walk in.

What a let down to be chosen as flag bearer and you're holding it on a boat rather than leading your countries team into the stadium.

This reminds me of a carnival
float I was on age 3 we were dressed in rain coats and hats spraying the crowd (or a group of mums and dads) with water from a fairy liquid bottle.

Basically this opening ceremony is a 1970s market town carnival

When did Iran change its name?

I really do hope these athletes don't all go down with colds/hypothermia.
