I can’t see a thread yet but please do point me in the right direction if there is one!

Anyone else watching? It’s all kicking off at 6:30pm, apparently with the athletes parade first.

London 2012 OC was remarkable, I’m hoping the French can match that magic!

Poor Djibouti. Lots of space in their boat.

BlueLimeRun · 26/07/2024 19:32

that was an odd deletion 🤔

iwentjasonwaterfalls · 26/07/2024 19:33

This did make me chuckle 😳

It feels a bit like a larger version of Its a Small World ride at DLP!

whatsappdoc · 26/07/2024 19:33

I think it's great! Love the torch man, the pole people and the boats. At least the competitors aren't standing for hours looking at someone's back.

Theremedy · 26/07/2024 19:33

King Frederick is yummy

Hope they don't all catch their death of cold in the rain and then can't compete.
The hot counties must be hating this.

I was thinking the same -- although about any athlete who might be prone to seasickness!

Misthios · 26/07/2024 19:33

Can somebody explain why South Korea are in the "C's"?
@Madcats in French it's Corea du Sud.

TellyUsername · 26/07/2024 19:34

Some beautiful music now

Owlbookend · 26/07/2024 19:34

RafaistheKingofClay · 26/07/2024 19:31

Oh god we’re only on C.

I know! Must be even more miserable on those boats in the pouring rain than watching on TV. Great warm up for the athletes before the biggest competition of their lives.

Sethera · 26/07/2024 19:34

Does the Seine have its own wave machine?

JaneJeffer · 26/07/2024 19:34

I hope there's a loo on the boats. They've been there quite a while!

Can somebody explain why South Korea are in the "C's"?

DH had a flat in central London about 20m from the Thames when the Queen's Jubilee pageant was on so we saw a bit of it: It rained a lot then and we froze!

Korea in French is Corée

Hangingupnow · 26/07/2024 19:34

The rain is so bad!

Halsall · 26/07/2024 19:34

I’m just waiting for the hand to come out and wipe the camera lens in traditional style

WonderingWanda · 26/07/2024 19:34

I feel a bit sea sick for all the athletes on boats.

StripedPiggy · 26/07/2024 19:34

If this weather doesn’t improve the RNLI will be charging up the Seine at 30 knots to rescue the people in ‘small boats’.

Pipsquiggle · 26/07/2024 19:34

Obviously no one in the organising committee watched the royal regatta 2012 - all we need is a sopping wet choir

It’s Coree in French

banivani · 26/07/2024 19:35

The athletes are giving it their all though! And now I saw crowds on the shore, that looks much better!

TellyUsername · 26/07/2024 19:35

I'm enjoying it a bit more now the music is improving and the boat people look happy. I'm enjoying the giant heads, can we put some in the Thames?

EsmaCannonball · 26/07/2024 19:35

TellyUsername · 26/07/2024 19:22

Id love some for some of the French Impressionists to be celebrated

Unfortunately, at this ceremony that would be Michel Yarwood and Faith Brun.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 26/07/2024 19:35

We're nearly at the USA

Mary Donaldson was Australian, presumably of Scottish heritage. It's annoying when the Beeb gets it wrong.
