I was gripped to 2012's opening ceremony, but I've gotten so bored of this one already that I've turned it off and I'm going to put on an episode of Columbo instead which I'm sure will be much more entertaining.

It does seem rather Eurovision 'postcards'.
But those usually only last about a minute.

We want an arena extravaganza surely.
Everything looks really tame on this scale, and oddly not live (i know some bits are mixed in that probably arent and its making it all poo)

The gold and the ballet dancer looks lovely but its all a bit lost without an audience. Feel a bit sorry for the athletes.

I was expecting the flag-bearers to be standing on the prow of specially-decorated barges.
