I feel like I haven't had a series in a while which has really gripped me and made me eager to watch more.

Any suggestions? I have Netflix, Amazon prime, Disney + along with usual BBC/ITV etc

Usually watch dramas/crime thrillers etc. but open to most genres. Thanks!

"Maestro in Blue", I am in Cyprus so watching the third and final series on Netflix this week. Think the whole thing has been fantastic, really gripping and extremely well done. To think that Christopher Papakaliatis acted in it as well has having the idea of it, wrote the script and directed it as well, amazes me! His talent is so impressive! The photography, particularly of Paxos in the last 4 episodes, is absolutely stunning, too. I don't want to watch the last episode, the whole thing has been so good, I want to keep it as a treat!

As well as lots that have been mentioned above I just downloaded and watched The Killing from about 2011 and Deadloch which is on Amazon Prime.

Severance is also one of the most gripping shows I've ever seen.

Was it the original Danish version, @ReframeFeelings? Where is it available?

State of Happiness is really good on iPlayer, Norwegian series set in the 70s and 80s about striking oil in Norway, series 3 has recently been released.

Funny Woman with Gemma Arterton (and a host of other great Brit actors).

Think it's on ITVx (series 1 complete, series 2 up to episode 5 with the last one dropping this week I think).

It's a Sky series

"Eric" on Netflix. Stars Benedict Cumberbatch (I normally can't stand him!) but this series is brilliant, it's about his ds who goes missing, and the whole family dynamics.

It is, but God, I found it so depressing and scary-dark. Heartbreaking. Cumberbatch is good in it, though.

That was SO good.

mum2jakie · 07/12/2024 12:39

I agree with previous posters that Blue Lights was gripper. Still on iplayer.

I also really enjoyed short series called Ellis. Was on channel 5 but don't let that put you off!

JessyCarr · 07/12/2024 12:45

The Resident on Netflix.

MrsSkylerWhite · 07/12/2024 12:49

Been rewatching Clocking Off on iplayer. It’s aged really well and is a case of spot who went on to become really famous.

Just binged No Good Deed on Netflix. Very entertaining, original with a great cast!

AprilShowerslastforHours · 23/12/2024 09:35

The Man on the Inside was the first thing I had got into in ages. Watched it over a weekend.

deplorabelle · 23/12/2024 09:40

A different thing entirely but I'm completely hooked on a YouTube channel called Jet Lag the Game where they use public transport, planes and cars to play games across a large geographic area. I'd recommend you start with season 7 (tag on trains across Europe)
