Starting a new SCD thread for chat prior to the series as the last is about to fill.

These threads are usually helmed by @PolkadotsAndMoonbeams and I normally deputise, but I haven't seen her around in a while

This thread will discuss who has been chosen for the show, but not who has been paired with who as that's a spoiler for the first show.

I can see why they don’t want AA or her lawyers to see it because they need to fit the allegations to the evidence, and not risk them making more allegations when they’ve seen the evidence ( but having said that, I don’t think AA can be expected to remember every little thing that happened in all those hours of rehearsal). But I don’t understand how GP seeing it could prejudice the case - unless they think that he then might be able to think up a defence based on what he’s seen?

Maybe it’s the interest of fairness. If one party can’t see it, neither can.

I know absolutely nothing but I'm curious why James Dreyfus turned it down in the end.
What is the pattern with stars that aren't from soaps or presenters that have more issues. Why are they more fragile?

I bet there is some gossip regarding Caroline Quentin also.

James Dreyfus is in this season of House of the Dragon, not a big role but he's present in a lot of scenes, so the filming might have conflicted - it was all through last summer and September. And presumably it paid pretty well.

@Aquarius1234 James Dreyfus has been very pro-women’s rights and took a lot of backlash (as did Amanda). My interpretation of that article was that he said to strictly I’ll do it but I’m going to get backlash and I’ll need your support to back me.

clearly when he decided against it, having anticipated the abuse from TRAs, they decided to go to Amanda. That shows to me that the show were actively looking for a “controversial” figure to maximise publicity.

I watched lots of AA instagram videos until she left. She left before Halloween so makes you think AA left after not very long unfortunately!
Bur she explained before the 1st show how she wasn't against trans people or drag queens. Just the sexualising at a young age say 12 or something.
Which I thought seemed fair.
I don't many actors are against trans in their industry.

I used to quite like Nick Knowles but my neighbour was on a show with him years ago and turns out he is a sexist git. Couldn’t be bothered to learn my neighbour’s wife’s name so referred to her by miming big tits.

The fact he dates women 30 years younger is enough to dislike him.
Probably due to him being a heavy smoker/ liking a drink/outdoor lifestyle but I have always thought even 20 years ago that he looked 10 years older than his age.
Looks pretty rough now.

Given that he's announced that he's definitely retiring, I hope this is the year we get Max Whitlock. I don't have much faith in Stefania, the casting director. She seems obsessed with reality TV 'stars' and footballers.

Rumours of Ralf Little this morning..I love Ralf so would be really happy if this is true!

I would love max whitlock! But would that be cutting it close to the end of the olympics?

I'm still hoping for Stuart Broad.

I never liked him, no surprise. Was pleased when Suzi Perry saw sense and the relationship ended.

I think it really is time to end Strictly Come Dancing. The remaining viewers will probably spend much time wondering who is being unkind or worse and looking for clues.
