What a horrible man!

The officer that said about the phone wasn't a crime scene officer. He would have had to check who had the phone but someone would have taken it off Jorge straight away. Unlike tv police dramas there are lots of different people from lots of different departments on scene

Oreyt · 16/12/2024 12:12

I know it would have be taken off him.

I know he wasn't a crime scene officer.

Nextdoor55 · 16/12/2024 21:05

I've just started watching these, the detective that's just been to Vegas! Boring everyone to tears 😂 I was in stitches

Toddlerteaplease · 16/12/2024 21:31

Sherry is trying hard not to smirk during that interview.

I'm sure I've seen a programme about Sherry Naidoo before. I can't think what it was but the name rings a bell. Poor man. :-(

BerriesCones · 16/12/2024 21:52

Oh I didn't realise this episode was from 2021. I thought it was part of the new series. That's why I've seen her before

Turmerictolly · 16/12/2024 22:01

So shocking that she got away with this with her history, that poor man. I suppose there just wasn't enough evidence even though he initially said she'd done it.

SydneyCarton · 16/12/2024 22:22

I think it was the lack of medical evidence that was the problem, she admitted assaulting him but the prosecution couldn't prove that the death was a direct result of the beating. He was also an alcoholic and the possibility of him having fallen after drinking couldn't be absolutely ruled out. Not sure why the verdict was ABH and not GBH though.

I thought the name was familiar as well. I missed the last bit. When did Paul die?

OP posts:
Toomuchleopard · 16/12/2024 23:25

He was in hospital with a bleed on the brain then a few days later he had a heart attack and went into a coma then he died the next day. They sent his brain off to be analysed to prove that the attack caused the death but sounds like they didn’t have enough evidence to prove it. She got 16 months for ABH rather than life for murder.

2019 it said on the end tribute. He was 41.

The woman is a nightmare.

This episode might have been a last minute replacement of the intended episode, if it has been shown before. Normally they pull it if something legal comes up about the scheduled episode

Oh I see.

It makes you wonder who Sherry's moved on to attacking now she'll have been released. Some other poor guy is probably being abused now.

Oreyt · 17/12/2024 10:41

They do this a lot. Show new episodes then randomly add an old one in. Pressure you're tight.

Oreyt · 17/12/2024 10:41

Right!!

No, it'll just be that this is the end of the new lot of episodes

There's no set amount of new episodes with this programme. Sometimes they'll only air one or two new episodes.

And every so often they do put repeats on.

BadgersGalore · 17/12/2024 10:59

I love this program but I wish they'd show a proper long series of new episodes in a row, it's not like they're short on crime surely! And a Christmas special wouldn't go amiss. Xmas Smile

caramac04 · 17/12/2024 11:06

Last nights episode was upsetting , well they all are but I found Sherry’s smirking hard to comprehend. She had no affection whatsoever for Paul; he was just her punching bag and seemed to think that was ok. Even when he had a bleed on the brain he was staggering along carrying the rubbish to the bin. I guess she walked with him so he couldn’t talk to anyone.
Her sentence was wholly inadequate but I hope a psychiatrist has assessed her and she has had therapy because otherwise there is certainly going to be another victim.
RIP Paul.

JellyBeanFactory · 17/12/2024 11:24

Her current Facebook shows her engaged to a new fella. Comments from friends say they proud of how she's changed her life round...

The amount of work and time that must go into making this is insane.

Following the investigation in the police station, getting all the copies of the body cam footage, cell camera footage, CCTV, phone call recordings.
Then piecing it all together to make a coherent programme.
Then having to wait for it to go to trial.
Then having to get clearance from all the people involved, or their families.

I remember the "new year" one at the start of last year was a special on a baby who'd been left with terrible brain injuries after shaking by the teenaged Dad

Allthehorsesintheworld · 18/12/2024 02:56

She never once asked how he was or showed any concern.
Pathetic sentence. Even if Paul had lived 16 months was not nearly enough for the awful injuries he’d sustained.
The police officers must have been gutted.

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 18/12/2024 19:07

Just watched that one. That poor man. The sentence was shockingly short. She killed him and gets 16 months. She was clearly a danger to him after last time. And then to plead that she had suffered DV herself before. The nerve.

sweatervest · 25/12/2024 17:33

Apparently the coke addled ex TA who stole the £300k from her uncle got a two year suspended sentence. Wtf.

Nextdoor55 · 27/01/2025 23:45

What series is everyone watching? I've caught up on the C4 catch-up ones but there's about 10 episodes on that, where are all the rest?!

purpleme12 · 27/01/2025 23:48

It's finished for the moment.
Tonight's was a repeat and it's not on next week
