Thanks

Same @JaneJeffer Even my 24 yo dd is a bit nonplussed about her set. Says it looks like it would be much more fun than what it actually is.
I was just telling her about Young Fathers set last year or the year before which was incredible.

Newgirls · 30/06/2024 22:33

Now!

mitogoshi · 30/06/2024 22:36

I admit I'm pretty underwhelmed this year, struggling to find acts to watch. Did enjoy Coldplay (unexpectedly) and the surprise kasabian set but so glad we didn't bother trying to get tickets. Shania Twain was particularly disappointing, apparently she's been ill and SZA, well I've gone to bed! Coverage on BBC not as good either

Rollergirl11 · 30/06/2024 22:41

It deffo has been a bit sparse on decent acts this year. Enjoyed watching LCD Soundsystem, The Streets, Coldplay, Fat white family and Orbital. Other then that it’s been meh.

Olidorjo · 30/06/2024 22:45

Am just home from work and watching Coldplay on catch up . Absolutely fucking brilliant. CM and his group has energy that I could only ever dream of ! Am drinking wine and not planning on being up too early! The set is incredible!

sugarbyebye · 30/06/2024 22:45

I thought the lineup looked worse this year, but I am not a fan of nostalgia acts. Think if we’d managed to get tickets it would’ve been fine as there was plenty still to keep us occupied and I would’ve missed the most crowded stages. Definitely up for trying again for tickets next year. Loads of our mates are there this year and they’ve been having an amazing time (although not heard from anyone today so presume signal and battery death).

Brexit and cost of touring seems to be hitting all the festivals, the lineups seem to have a lot of the same people doing them all. we usually go to Bluedot festival but they made a massive loss last year and I’m not sure it’s going to return. The industry is suffering a lot.

CharlotteLightandDark · 30/06/2024 22:46

Just caught up with IDLES, was awesome! Had a banksy stunt, young kid running on stage and a fuck the king chant so lots of action

Tickytocky · 30/06/2024 22:49

Coldplay and Dua Lipa were amazing but today has been a let down ☹️

JaneJeffer · 30/06/2024 22:50

I think the IOW festival was better than Glastonbury this year

Newgirls · 30/06/2024 22:50

I like the sza songs now she’s up the tree

looking at Spotify she is massive! 17th most streamed artist in the world 👀

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 30/06/2024 22:53

Never heard of SZA but watching thinking how the hell was l watching Elton John last year and now this tripe? I would have been very disappointed if l was there.
Think Coldplay should have closed fhe show personally.

Yep, she is really not headline material.

EachandEveryone · 30/06/2024 22:55

Sza was supposed to be Madonna. I don’t know how Emily thought that would actually happen. When it fell through they took SZA off West Holts and it’s been a disaster. I wish they’d paid for Green Day

BestIsWest · 30/06/2024 22:56

I’ve been so disappointed this year too. I loved last year so much. I did enjoy PJ Harvey, Orbital, Keane and James. Was sad Squeeze weren’t shown.

79Helene · 30/06/2024 22:58

It's been really underwhelming this year

Enjoying The National though

Yes these were great, but they’re all really old bands…. I think it should be more about newer acts, but these seem to be thin on the ground compared to the 90s/ early noughties

In terms of new bands, I loved the Last Dinner Party. They were ace!

JaneJeffer · 30/06/2024 23:02

I got a bit worried when they started shaking him Grin

JaneJeffer · 30/06/2024 23:06

And the crowd surfing was a bit dicey as well 😬

Madonna isn’t great at turning up on time issue-perhaps she’ll rock up 12 months late?!
I agree, Green Day would be a great headliner.

Olidorjo · 30/06/2024 23:12

Still watching Coldplay on catch up…absolutely brilliant.Chris Martin is so engaging with the crowd!

sugarbyebye · 30/06/2024 23:14

Justice were great. Bet that would’ve been a vibe there.

SlopeT · 30/06/2024 23:15

I enjoyed Sugarbabes, Kasabian, Dua Lipa, Paul Heaton, Keane, The last dinner party and James.

Jellykat · 30/06/2024 23:22
