I have just seen this in the newspaper. I am so excited, brand new host too.

Suzy has redeemed her self with this dress

Liked the paint splatter one

Wolfcub · 11/06/2024 21:54

Suzy's looks odd. The middle tier is sticking out in a weird way

TellyUsername · 11/06/2024 21:54

Pascha is the only good one there.

TellyUsername · 11/06/2024 21:55

Marcus to go I think.

littlbrowndog · 11/06/2024 21:55

There was nothing that I went wow at

Suzy really doesn't like clothes that fit does she.

I’m just baffled by the clothes she wears and has, presumably, made. There's just no fit. At all.

TellyUsername · 11/06/2024 21:56

The explosion in a nursery school got gotw, I suppose Grayson Perry would be happy.

TellyUsername · 11/06/2024 21:56

I feel Don is liked and respected his farewell is warmer than last week's.

NashvilleQueen · 11/06/2024 21:56

Struck again by the overall standard which seems way behind previous series.

Wolfcub · 11/06/2024 21:57

Don is clearly well liked

They're awful, badly designed and badly made. Maybe I don't understand fashion.

littlbrowndog · 11/06/2024 21:57

Aw don what a nice man

SoupDragon · 11/06/2024 21:57

I do agree with both choices this week although I think I would have picked Marcus - maybe the fact he did something different saved him.

It's definitely not a one horse race this year!

Yes I'm sure in previous series the sewers had a higher level of basic skills

Rebusmyfire · 11/06/2024 21:58

No one cried when sex-pot Janet trotted off last week... just saying

HeadNorth · 11/06/2024 21:58

Don seems lovely, but he was struggling with the ridiculous timescales. I thought Luke’s dress was utterly vile.

Definitely.

Such a shame to lose Don.

He's lovely man - but I think the time constraints weren't easy for him.

Netaporter · 11/06/2024 22:00

Aww what a gentleman Don is. Sad to see him go but none of the challenges have suited an actual tailor IMO, had he entered in past seasons he may well have gone further.

Baffled by the indulgent mums/wives letting their actual wedding dresses bring sacrificed 😱

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 11/06/2024 22:04

I really feel that they will get a better caliber of competitor if they allow more time. That way we can see some really indulgent flights of fancy in the made to measure, not people scaling back so that they get a garment finished. If I were capable of making beautiful things I wouldn't expose myself to having to half-arse things because of the time limitation.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 11/06/2024 22:06

I'm looking forward to next week. I have a few saris that I'm too old and fat to wear now, they are absolutely gorgeous fabric.

SoupDragon · 11/06/2024 22:15

Previous years have had contestants that haven't struggled this much with the time frames. It seems to be a real problem this year.

Every week I think how awful her outfit is. Ailsa also wears awful clothes, so big and baggy

AnnaMagnani · 11/06/2024 22:20

Oversized baggy things seem to be 'a thing' in indie pattern making.

I think they just allow you to make a lot of stuff while not actually being good at sewing as you haven't had to think through even making things the right size let alone any adjustments.

For those of us brought up on the Big 4 it all seems a bit odd.

OutOfTheHouse · 11/06/2024 22:25

The made to measure were all shocking. Half of them didn’t seem to fit. Pasha’s was the only one that fitted. The red and silver creation looked dreadful. It didn’t fit.

I notice that Pasha had an array of interesting badges on her jacket during the interview. I wonder if they had any meaning. One looked like suffragette colours.
