The last few posts have got me thinking about the timeline for Aiden getting together with Kathy and having Tate.
Carrie and Aiden were together when Miranda discovered she was pregnant. They broke up on the night of Richard Wright's black and white ball, the same day Miranda was outed at work for being pregnant and felt her first kick. So I would say she was around 5 months pregnant on that date. I'm going to say that was April, and Miranda gave birth 4 months later in August (the day Big left NY).
Aiden went to bed for a month after the break-up, according to Steve. He was then with Nina Katz. Carrie's confrontation with Katz occurs after Brady's birth (happens in the episode where a reluctant Samantha goes to help out Miranda so she can get a haircut). So at best Aiden got together with Nina in May. Maybe spent a month or two with her? So let's say they broke up in July.
So far:
April: Carrie and Aiden split.
May-July: Aiden with Nina Katz.
August: Brady born.
At this stage I will add that Carrie gets together with Alexandr Petrovsky a whole year later in August on Brady's 1st birthday.
In between that, we have Carrie going through her lonely stage, becoming an author, meeting Berger and going to Bobby Fine's wedding, which is where she and Berger finally get it together. Then they have their first date at the cinema, when Carrie is fussing about not being in her perfect outfit when she sees Berger in the street - but upon seeing Aiden with baby Tate, she throws caution to the wind and calls Berger.
If Carrie's starting her relationahip with Petrovsky in August, Carrie must have started her relationship with Berger in around April-May (it was hot and there were lilacs). Which means she bumps into Aiden with Tate pretty much 1 year after she broke up with him. Which means that, in the space of a year, Aiden broke up with Carrie, went to bed for a month with depression, had a relationship with Nina Katz, broke up with her, met and married Kathy, got her pregnant and had Tate.
Kathy must have got pregnant almost immediately she and Aiden got together, which makes me think their relationship was possibly more shotgun than grand romance, or even Aiden wanting to lock someone (anyone) into a marriage. I doubt Aiden was over Carrie when he got together with Kathy. (Much like Natasha saying Big was still in love with Carrie when her met and married her in Paris). It wouldn't surprise me if their entire relationship was built on sand, resulting in lots of incompatibility conflict (because Aiden is controlling), and this is why Kathy worked away a lot.
SATC Movie 1 is supposed to be around 4-5 years after SATC. SATC Movie 2 a further 2 years. So Aidan meeting Carrie in Abu Dhabi is 7 years after the end of SATC the series and approx 8 years into his marriage to Kathy. AJLT is supposed to have started 11 years after the second movie. Series 2 at the 12 year mark. Is Wyatt supposed to be 13? Aiden and Carrie's dalliance in Abu Dhabi took place when Wyatt was around 2?
The medication does seem to be key. Is Wyatt playing up because he's off his meds, and is he off his meds because Aiden doesn't want him on them - whereas Kathy does? Does Kathy know what Aiden is up to if he's withholding meds. Surely she wouldn't have asked Carrie/would have asked Carrie to give them direct to her if she thought Aiden was withholding them.
