Have just watched eps 1 & 2. Definitely echo the other posters who couldn’t handle the phone sex scene. I managed with one eye open until Aidan licked his hand.

Hopefully no more Aidan nocturnal truck scenes!

The Strawberry Shortcake hat was awful and brilliant.

The Principal ‘big Charlotte eyes!’ cracked me up. Seemed like a nod to her over-acting.

I was thinking that earlier too! Skipper was such a wet lettuce. And then she went for Steve. Miranda sure could pick 'em!

Although now I think about it, Skipper was Carrie's friend I think originally. Not the usual sort of fellow to inhabit her world.

Miranda also liked a Skipper-looking fellow with glasses and pot in the Post-it episode, where she's slimmed down enough to wear her skinny jeans. She definitely had a type, and it did not have XX chromosomes. There was also a flirtation with a gorgeous red headed man in that episode. Miranda had a lot of men!

Skipper was Carrie's friend I think originally

SATC was like Friends in that there were random friends wheeled out when they needed fillers for storylines who (mostly) were never seen again

Skipper is introduced as Carrie’s friend in the very first episode (which I saw recently as it rolled on from AJLT and reminded me of the enormous gap between the two in every way).

I'm intrigued by Aiden and what he is up to after the last episode and the weirdness with the meds and the sleeping arrangements. I am really hoping this series surprises us with the dark side of Aiden - well darker than the controlling man we caught a glimpse of in SATC. And Carrie realising she dodged a bullet and drawing a line under him for good.

I caught an episode of Divorce recently, and thought that the Frances/Robert relationship might be a bit like how Carrie/Aiden might have ended up had they married. Whiny man and stifled woman cheating from boredom, with kids who sense their parents' resentment.

Divorce was brilliant I thought it was more like SJP

I loved Divorce too. SJP was great in it and I love everything Sharon Horgan does

Well I liked SJPs pink dress and coat at the beginning of episode 1. That stupid big hat was worse than the one she wore on the plane in the 2nd film. Love the cat Shoe, so cute.
Aiden is up to something with those drugs I think but I've only seen up to episode 3.
Like Selma but she will never be Sam.
I think Aiden and Carrie are acting out the relationship of Carrie and Big, he is treating her the same as Big did all through Sex and The City. I'm surprised Carrie is falling for it again.
The best outfit Carrie ever wore was that news print dress. She even wore it twice!!!!

A pretty good episode this week, up there with Ep1 of this series. It was pretty dire though if you love fashion which isn’t Sister wives based 😂 (albeit LTW had some pretty lovely stuff)

Absolutely loved Miranda being a meme. I have also randomly stammered during an word and said the C word during a work gig. Mortifying. I still wake up in a cold sweat remembering and it was 25 years ago 😂 Loved that Miranda has got with Joy. Finally! 🥳 also wondered how many takes the cat scene took 😂

Aidan - 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩 where to start? So many red flags he could be a communist party all by himself. I’ve a friend whose child was diagnosed with Autism and his Dad refused to acknowledge the diagnosis… was very sad to watch. I don’t know enough about ADHD but it strikes me that Wyatt’s issue is about his parents divorce rather than anything else. Loved Homer. Absolutely loved Bob sitting in the corner getting pissed. Not sure Carrie has made the right decision there. For the love of god, I wish they’d stop giving JC any scenes involving crying. The man cannot act. For @PurplebeadedFendi Tate is celebrating his 21st birthday - how does that fit in with your expectation?

also, was Harry’s Dad not dead in SATC? Loved the introduction of Pop Pop. Did not love the Poly storyline for Lily. Up there with Che for me. Also do not buy that Charlotte would want more for her kids than some chap sleeping with whoever he fancies whilst Lily is besotted.

I always liked Charlotte best in SATC and felt like she ‘won’ out of everyone in getting the life she wanted.

I hate what they’ve done to her now in destroying Harry’s character and making him an embarrassing old man.. and I can’t even begin with her kids. Surely teenagers aren’t really like that? If so god help us all.

So bored with Charlotte and her family. Of course Lily’s boyfriend had to be poly - another tick on the woke agenda.

I really didn’t buy Joy shutting down and being so quiet with her friends (terrible acting by some of them) - that felt a lazy and contrived way for Miranda to initiate a conversation with Joy about their mutual attraction.

@Netaporter If we go by the dates of the series, Brady was born in Summer 2002 and I estimate Tate in early 2003. If the current series is supposed to be set in 2025, then Tate should be turning 22 and Brady 23 next birthday.

Not watched this episode yet, but If Tate is 21, then Brady should be 22 next birthday. Series 1 of AJLT has Brady as a 17 year old. What are we now, 2 years later? So Brady's 19 or maybe 20 now. Somehow Tate, conceived and born after Brady, is 1 year older!

I feel more certain than ever that I’ve nailed it with ‘Harry gets prostate cancer, prostate removed, sex life issues’ for the series.

Charlotte would definitely not be cool with Lily being part of a poly relationship but as with so many storylines on this show, that just got thrown away, and felt awkward as hell to boot.

Why invite Anthony and Guiseppe to a family dinner? What did that add?

Aidan is just insane and we’re just leaving it all there and making the storyline that Carrie still loves him and he’s welcome to NY any time for a shag? Seriously? And that was a very hard watch indeed. Forcing a child with ADHD to go without his self soothing and then blaming him when he explodes? Christ. I can’t remember why Wyatt doesn’t live with the parent who seems to have a way better sense of how to look after him.

Glad Miranda and the lovely Joy have got together fairly quickly rather than spinning it out for episodes but I assumed Joy was silent out of embarrassment for her appalling friends. It was like a Richard Curtis film on drugs. Have MPK and his writing room accomplices just decided that this is what British people are like? And how much time did we need to spend with them.

Seema, I liked. She made me laugh twice.

Just to add, I estimate that Lily is only around a year - 16 months younger than Brady going by the SATC timelines - she was already born by the end of the series, set around February/March 2004, and her adoption picture looked like a child of at least 4 months. If we say she was born December 2023, she should be 21 now.
