I’m enjoying it more this season, too. I am just taking it for what it is - a visual treat (the clothes, locations, interiors) and seeing where the characters go. It bears no resemblance at all to the SATC series, all the characters seem to have been replaced by AI but I can’t give up on it, it’s like it’s my duty to watch.

I do find there are lots of loose ends - what was the point of the smuggled meds storyline, it didn’t go anywhere. Same as meeting up with Lisette last week and her throwing her phone so it hit that guy in a bar. Maybe that is how shows are written now, White Lotus was the same with loose threads all over the place.

Seema is obviously the new Samantha but in reality she would hate a sap like Carrie banging on about that wet lettuce Aidan all the time.

Hot Fellas bakery or whatever it’s called is old fashioned sexist nonsense, no way would this work in NYC with all the amazing bakeries they have, what woman would go into a tacky themed place like that to buy a seeded loaf from a Chippendale?

But, I’ll press on with it.

At guess I'd say smuggled meds is going to lead to conflict between carrie and Aidan - Kathy asked Carrie didn't she - she didn't get Aidan to ask her. There will be some tension there. The storyline with lisette I don't know - maybe lisette is going to sell Carrie her apartment back at an inflated price 😆 but I don't think you can call these loose ends when we are only 3 episodes in to a season.

Finally watched it. I’m a huge SATC fan and it shaped my 20s. AJLT is absolute balls and has basically the same issue as the movies had - the failure to separate life and art, SJP isn’t Carrie anymore. No wit, no scuzz, no cigarettes, no grit! No sex! She is SJP : a rich New Yorker who likes ballet and hasn’t got much of a sense of humour.
will I still watch it? Hell yes.

S 3 Episode 3 review

Generally wasn’t loving this week’s. I want the writing to be at wk1 standard (minus any palm -licking antics)

Fashion notes
LTW and Seema win again this week with some very stylish wear. Charlotte also got some decent outfits. Loved Carrie’s silk/watercolour print kaftan (off to google) and this week SJP has a beautiful tan and some really great hair. Miranda has better outfits too.

Storyline
It seemed like a bit of a ‘setting up’ episode for Carrie. And I’m now annoyed about why Carrie is pandering to the massive manchild - who appears to be controlling his kids too - surely at least two of them are adults yet he can’t tell them his GF is staying over? WTF? Also, it is clear he does not approve of meds for Wyatt - what about a thank you to Carrie?

Loved Ryan Serhant cameo and Seema’s storyline. Plus do we think she’s going to visit ‘the home of the whopper’? 😂

Anthony had some poor material to work with this week. As did poor Harry (although I did love ‘we’re committing Harry-Carrie’ ) I mean - a grown man pissing himself? Unless this is foreshadowing Harry having prostate cancer, it was pretty lame tbh.

Glad Miranda looks like she might be getting a decent love interest - but got a feeling it’ll be a twisty storyline.

Not sure what they were doing with LTW? They made her look like a spoilt child. Who seriously can afford to take 8 years to make a documentary without a rich partner ? And why would she assume Grace could too?

The cars didn’t get great storylines either - A brown S class would be the kiss of death on the forecourt - one which has been smoked in would be utterly unsaleable and I can’t unsee the truck as anything other than ‘the wanktruck’ 😂

On the upside, Shoe lives on to see another day with a new rather fancy scratching post.

I’m now off to glam up for a photo to renew my drivers licence because it expires this month 😉

Yes not the best episode!
I found the Lisa scenes very tedious - just sat in that editing room and not really adding to the episode.

After watching tonight, I’m not convinced Harry has a prostate cancer storyline coming down the line, I think it’s about his age and whilst Charlotte is trying to be like the young ones, Harry is accepting it’s a young man’s game these days, so he’s probably just got a UTI which will be cured by ep4 and the wet trousers won’t be mentioned again, until he realises he wants to change his life direction before it’s too late, or something like that anyway. Remember the past two seasons of AJLT there was a few teases of stories which actually came to nothing.

Ep3 Miranda seems like Miranda again, why couldn’t she have had a period of self discovery in the context of her usual life, it would have saved us all having permanently curled under toes whilst watching for the past two seasons?

Harry hasn’t ever had prostate cancer in the show though? Evan Handler did have Leukaemia but to my knowledge there hasn’t been a Harry cancer storyline? I did suggest that a cancer storyline was being signposted before the season started due to the missed colonoscopy appointment / dust balls storylines which added significance to Harry pissing himself to my mind….

Harry has never had cancer. There was some health issue in series 1 I think, regarding him failing to ejaculate. The writers do seem determined to turn Harry into what he categorically wasn't in SATC. The whole point of his character was that he wasn't the classically handsome blue blood that Charlotte always went for, but he showed her that a man outside her narrow parameters could be both sexy and fun and give her everything she needed emotionally. Now they have turned him into a cliche old man about 15 years too early for his age (he should be in his middle aged prime right now), while Charlotte is shown as a "MILF" (yuk) having a second wind in her career and social life. It is similar to Steve in that respect, he was Miranda's unlikely soul mate, their relationship was tested in the movie, but they came through it stronger than ever; then AJLT turned him into a crochety, prematurely old man, giving her - now a student reinventing herself - the excuse to say she was never happy with him, to cheat and to find her true sexuality (which I will forever call bullshit on). I really hope they do not give Charlotte a storyline where she ends up on the dating scene again. If they kill off Harry, I'm out.

I really don't think they will. The more I think about it, the more I suspect the storyline WILL be prostate cancer but it'll be the removal of the prostate and the effect of that on their obvious still very healthy sex life rather than him dying.

I think it's almost worse than him being a cocklodger, if that's possible, because he doesn't even seem to view it as their house at all. He hasn't asked for a key, didn't engage with that ugly table, had (now less so) been clear that there will be no cohabiting for 5 years.
It's one thing to have rose tinted glasses about the guy who wants to live with you's motivation, but Carrie has them about a guy who is giving nothing.
Hopefully there is some sort of 'girl, what are you doing!' intervention brewing.
