On for 6w on Sunday at 9pm

This thread is tv paced !!!!

This brand-new six-part thriller, starring Jing Lusi and Richard Armitage, promises nerve-wracking plot twists, heart-stopping performances, and a compelling narrative that spans continents. Set to premiere on ITV1 and ITVX on the 21st of April, here's why Red Eye should be at the top of your must-watch list...

Red Eye kicks off with an adrenaline-fuelled opening that sets the tone for the rest of the series. Dr. Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage), after a near-death experience in Beijing, finds himself entangled in a web of accusations upon his return to London.

Arrested for a murder he insists he didn't commit, Nolan's life spirals into chaos.

The plot thickens when DC Hana Li (Jing Lusi), tasked with escorting Nolan back to China, discovers a murder on their flight, unraveling a series of events that suggest a deeper, more sinister plot at play.

One of Red Eye's most compelling features is its unpredictability. With a storyline that introduces twist after twist, viewers are kept on the edge of their seats, guessing what could possibly happen next.

Each episode peels back layers of intrigue, revealing geopolitical tensions and sinister forces that suggest no one can be trusted.

The series boasts an array of famous faces, delivering strong performances that bring depth and complexity to their roles.

Jing Lusi's portrayal of DC Hana Li is both compelling and nuanced, presenting a character whose determination and grit are matched only by the mysteries she faces.

Richard Armitage's Dr. Matthew Nolan is equally captivating, offering a glimpse into the psyche of a man fighting to clear his name while navigating a labyrinth of lies and deception.

Red Eye is both pacy and frenetic, mirroring the urgency and danger that the characters face, and this rapid tempo ensures that there's never a dull moment, with each episode drawing the viewer deeper into the unfolding conspiracy.

Helping to further bolster the series are its high production values and striking visuals – the international setting of the series, spanning from the bustling streets of Beijing to the imposing presence of London's Heathrow Airport, provides a rich backdrop for the narrative.

If it's overseas it should be MI6 not MI5. But then facts and accuracy aren't this drama's strong point.😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2024 22:00

Did they check in his wound ? Must be the only place the thing is hidden

But sneaky hiding in innocent people but meant all 4 now dead

And sir George dead as well but Jess is ok

Not sure how this will pan out as seems a long flight but many dead

Def someone (the killer) was done the cargo bit. What's the shiny object some kind of prod thing , they said she had puncture wounds and why keep breaking fingers - is that torture ?

Sorry, I feel a bit useless but who is the dead dude in the back of the van?

feelingalittlehorse · 12/05/2024 22:04

Oh hang on! Is that the doctor that refused to go back?

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2024 22:11

The one who started it all as that was the one going to go for dinner and the girl said it wasn't safe

It's getting good

I definitely think whatever it is is in his stab wound. That's why Shen Zhao apologised to him. The fight in the club was set up . That's why his wound is suppurating....

I think that was covered pretty much in this ep. A bit of a turf war between MI5 (Madeline) and MI6 (Tennant). "It's in the wound" sounds plausible, but does Matthew know? Presumably not. But I'm not convinced he's entirely innocent.

How could whatever everyone thinks he’s carrying be in his stab wound? I didn’t think his wound was that big for something to go in there

butterpuffed · 13/05/2024 12:49

They ripped his plaster off when they first stopped him but they didn't do anything about it that we saw .

I thought it was worth watching up till this episode ~ a lot of the actors aren't very good and it sounds like they're reading the script last night .

Maybe something like a micro SD card?

I think it is actually the script writing that is not good.

I had a perfect example last night but have forgotten it but stuff like ' it's your sister Hannah' in case we forgot. Sir George (we know this cos they named him 578 times) had terrible almost bad episodes of Doctor Who stuff.

It was clunking when Lesley S said ' that's the same Asian girl' (with heavy emphasis on Asian) so that Tennant could say Asian back so that she could work it up to China.

DH said ' a lot happens each episode but it still manages to feel like nothing happens'.

RosieMilkJug · 13/05/2024 14:07

I think it’s the script and the direction rather than the lack of acting ability. It looks good but the actors are not utilised. Richard Armitage and Leslie Sharp are wooden and flat. Were they told to be this way?

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/05/2024 14:24

Yea assume some thing small like a card or bug

What I don't get is the captain is never actually flying I feel sorry for his 1st officer! And up until last night none of the passengers were making a fuss (that would never happen).

I'm struggling to be honest. We've got 7 hours of that flight left for them to save the day!

duc748 · 13/05/2024 14:56

When she said, we need to search everyone on the plane, and their baggage, I thought, how many passengers? If you spent ten minutes on each one...

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/05/2024 18:26

It's a long flight

But fairly empty

I haven't RTFT but I did think it was weird that they served the meal straight away. And a dog in the cabin? Possibly on an internal flight but on a flight from London to China? I don't think so!

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/05/2024 23:24

Maybe they will land /turn back now

It hadn’t occurred to me but it’s a good idea. Maybe something like a small flash drive?

martinisforeveryone · 14/05/2024 16:52

I'm going all out, nailing my colours to the mast and declaring it won't be an A4 laminated folder 😉 Although, given the plot holes and stretching credibility so far, you shouldn't ever say never.
