I thought that too @lollipoprainbow

I’m just slightly older than Fern. I know from experience if I fell in a similar way I’d have felt shaken up as well as my neck and head hurting. Being knocked sideways and falling down hurts a whole lot more in your 60s than it does in your 30s. It was a bloody stupid game for such mixed ages and abilities which got out of hand.

MarchHares · 21/03/2024 18:24

It was a stupid game but a man in his 20s should be mature enough not to be so competitive he knocks over/hurts to women, particularly when one is 66. We older women just don’t bounce like we used to 😣

People aren't saying he nominated Fern because of ageism, not on Mumsnet anyway, don't know what people are saying on X.

What some of us are saying is that he spoke to her in a condescending way when he explained to her that her stripy top was in fashion. Like she was not likely to already know that because ... this is where the ageism comes in.

I don’t see why that is ageist. I said something similar to my DH about his new trainers the other day and he is in his early 30’s (younger than me).

I think if you want to go looking for something you will find it. To me, it’s just a normal comment and I bet if we watched the live feed 24/7 we would see a million similar comments from all housemates to each other.

The comment divided opinion but I don't think it's fair for you to disregard people's feelings on the grounds that "if you go looking for something you will find it".

Fern felt it was ageist and some of us can see why she thought that, others can't. I don't think Nikita meant any harm in the comment though.

I see Ekin-Su has been pulled from the final. Her management say she is too vulnerable

That's sad.

Looks like this show was a very bad move for her 🙁

CellophaneFlower · 21/03/2024 19:29

Personally I think Fern was desperate to find something to pull Nikita about, just because she was upset about his nominations. Why she's so bothered that a young man in his 20's would rather choose a bunch of people nearer his own age/mentality to share a house with over a woman old enough to be his grandmother escapes me.

I don't think his comment was ageist at all - he was desperately trying to communicate with someone he has nothing in common with.

LittleCrackers · 21/03/2024 19:38

Just catching up on last night's late and live, and Bradley's own sister says her favourite 'Bradley moment' is his frog headband. If that's the best thing she can think of then I think it shows he's been a bit pointless in there IMO

Not surprising. Women like her tend to get people wrapped around their little finger and aren't used to confrontation. It must be incredibly hard being called out on a mass scale, reminds me a little of Roxanne Pallet and how things came crashing down on her when their was evidence and and audience collectively assessing. I don't wish either of them harm though.

MarchHares · 21/03/2024 20:53

I wonder if ES will get her full fee. There must be some reason all the early evictees turn up at the end for us to go “oh, yeah, buncle Gary was in this season”.

Aquarius1234 · 21/03/2024 21:01

Ridiculous regarding Ekin-Su, she was in there for 12 days.

EsmaCannonball · 21/03/2024 21:03

Honestly, I don't think the celeb version of Big Brother has helped anyone with their career. It's done the opposite for a few.

Hopingitsahornyfinger · 21/03/2024 21:06

It got Mark Owen and TT back together!

Hopingitsahornyfinger · 21/03/2024 21:07

I'm gutted for ES - I wasn't a fan, but she really didn't do anything wrong & there was certainly no comparison to Roxanne Pallet.

EsmaCannonball · 21/03/2024 21:09

Oh god, Louis and Fern are almost doing a George and Rula.

Aquarius1234 · 21/03/2024 21:09

Louis 🤢

OMG Grin

EsmaCannonball · 21/03/2024 21:10

Does Nicole Kidman come from the West Country?

MeinKraft · 21/03/2024 21:11

I feel the same about cooking Louis

augustusglupe · 21/03/2024 21:11

😂

EachandEveryone · 21/03/2024 21:12

Has he got live in staff or does he just live off ready meals

MeinKraft · 21/03/2024 21:13

Probably goes to restaurants all the time!

Thechatteringofthebirds · 21/03/2024 21:13

How on earth has Louis got through life without cooking…ever…?! Not even cracking an egg or putting food in an oven. Surely before he was wealthy he must’ve cooked? I just can’t fathom it, now he’s wealthy does he just have done one to bring everything to him, surely we all at least put crap in the oven at some point 🤷🏻‍♀️😂
