Don't know if this has already been said but Fern feels like an older Bridget Jones lol something about the way she talks and her mannerisms...

YES I've been thinking this too. She really reminds me of Bridget in Bridget Jones Baby.

Also agree that Fern has been giving me Renee Zelwegger's Bridget Jones vibes. It's the eyes and mouth.

Will the next Bridget jones film be any good then?

I don't think hes any more boring than some of the only way is Essex/ Made in Chelsea/ models they've had on CBB previously over the years.

I just don't see Nikita as boring at all. He's had a really interesting life, lived in various different countries, he speaks multiple languages, he's a skilled professional dancer, I thought it was very interesting hearing him discuss how he felt when the war in Ukraine started and the resulting impact on him, and the charity work he's done. Being mild mannered is not the same as being boring.

I think some people's idea of boring = non confrontational

Like the guy on late and live last night. "I can't believe someone is that nice all the time. It can't be real" They don't understand that there are nice, steady, quietly interesting people around as they are maybe used to drama and arguments being the norm.

I don’t particularly get the comment that you don’t feel different when you are older you still feel young . I still want to dress nice and do my make up nice but feel bloody old my knees remind me of that every single day !
Also I was wearing Breton tops when my son was small have stripes ever gone out of fashion. Nikita is young and attractive but not stunningly so.

In your mind. You don't feel old in your mind. That's what my Nanna said to me, it's how I feel and I think it's what Fern means.

Would have been nice to hear more about this especially his charity work. Don’t feel we know much about any of the contestants.. its a reality show so wasn’t expecting a deep insight just more snippets of themselves

The importance of having a good mix of people...had it been a houseful of Nikita types- it would have been very quiet, not much conversation, a houseful of Louis types - loads of bitching and ego battles, Fern types - lots of soul searching and discussions, Davids- non stop singing, shouting, lying around all day long..

I think big brother has too many challenges which then take up all the airtime. What I like best are the conversations that happen when they get bored. That’s when we find out about their lives.
I too struggle to understand the mind still being in its 20s thing. I have learnt so much and would behave totally different now if I could go back.

Yes it would, but the producers decided to show us fifteen minutes of Louis poking at his dentures with his tongue every night instead

Bradley? I don't think I've noticed him in there at all, he's like wallpaper! Apart from knowing he is young and ND, I don't think I know anything else.
I don't honestly think any of them are worthy winners and think this has to be the weakest CBB I've seen

Just watched last night's episode, Nikita was too rough,he shoved Marisha too!

Not sure what I feel about him checking the sofa,he was either feeling it in a disbelieving manner and thinking she was making it up or seeing how hard it was to see if he'd really hurt her. I think it was the former personally.

Louis keeps going on about everyone wanting to win. He's the one that wants to win the most!

On X someone has slowed the video down and Fern very clearly falls over her own feet, no pushing from Nikkita.

I disagree that Nikkita is being ageist to Fern, I thing she believes he is because of her past experiences as a pp mentioned but let’s be honest, she is pissed because she found out he nominated her. She nominates people too, it’s part of the game and a group of people won’t all get along, that’s just a simple fact. Two people not getting along doesn’t always have to boil down to an ‘ism’ of some description, personalities just clash or someone will find someone else boring or bossy or stuck up etc.

If Fern had nominated Nikkita three times no one would say it’s because he is young would they?

People aren't saying he nominated Fern because of ageism, not on Mumsnet anyway, don't know what people are saying on X.

What some of us are saying is that he spoke to her in a condescending way when he explained to her that her stripy top was in fashion. Like she was not likely to already know that because ... this is where the ageism comes in.

Louis to win for me. Purely for the fact I started off thinking he was vile (didnt like him prior either) and he's managed to completely turn it around for me and I now love him 😳 He doesn't give a shit and nothing seems to faze him at all.

I agree no one is claiming he nominated Fern due to agism but he has been ageist several times. I think part of the problem is he has nominated her since the off and he clearly dislikes her, but there isn’t a clear reason.

I think fern hurt her head because she had a hair clip on which probably pressed into the back of her head after quite a hard fall.
