So SouthWest Ben has the Starter, who will win Fish, Mains and Dessert…? Will there be fighting over the freezer? How many more flames and medals will the judges have to pretend to be surprised by?

And hopefully as he'll be there anyway, Kirk can advise on decent non-meat courses....

It's never made sense to have the runner-up do the canapé and pre-dessert because theirs could have been rubbish during the heats.

Really happy with that. I’m generally not too fussed about watching actual banquet cooking, hope you all enjoy it.

In the end some great chefs but it needs a shake up or maybe a year out and new chefs will come through. Wild cards if a dish gets 39/40. Enough kitchen equipment for everyone. Perhaps new judges.

Super result tonight. And I'm so pleased that Cal was given recognition by Andi for being so supportive of his fellow chefs. ❤️

so so pleased for Kirk and just hope that all goes better than it looked from the preview at the banquet. I mean not having ingredients there in time is surely just ridiculous- on top of the fact the kitchens are never good enough etc. Cal can definitely leave head held high though!!

That's an interesting article @Binglebong I had no idea of Nisha's previous career.

I've only caught bits and bobs of this years series as I really didn't enjoy the last few years and wasn't up for more of it. They felt a bit tired and like they were trying to find or create an event to celebrate. But this years one has been far more enjoyable.

I missed the idiots comments towards Kate but my dds heard it and it just cemented their dislike for him. So pleased she won the main and I too cried when she phoned her dad.

I didn't realise who Kirk's dad is, but now understand the pressure he felt under. It was interesting reading why he went plant based and I was so pleased he won the desert course.

I can't think of a better role for Corrin than trying to cook loads of teeny fiddly canapés on a train🤣

It would be good if the course winners were asked who they would like from the finals as a soue chef (I can't spell!), I'm guessing Cal but I can see some votes for Melissa too - they all seemed to work well with her. I don't think she will enter again as she got so intimidated which is a real shame as her food tended to be the dishes I'd go for, she has serious talent and some of the other chefs were really looking after her (without being patronising).

Andi's outfit is putting me slightly in mind of Ted Bovis if he worked in Sainsbury's circa 1972.

The dining room is always miles away from the kitchen. Every bloody year. So annoying for the chefs!

I just want them to open a pantry to find a bunker full of Ferrero Rocher.

I really want one of Kate's marinated figs. They look luscious.
