Here's a question... on a previous thread we discussed that success as a faithful was just staying in. And that being quiet was a stronger move because anyone gobby would be binned.

But what's the point if you end up as Mollie did. She wasn't cannon fodder, but she was almost a human shield. And she ended up in the same place as everyone else - with nothing.

Does getting furthest, as she did, make her the strongest faithful? I would say not...

Jaz was just talking about it on uncloaked and saying how much of a balance it is. It’s like you need to have some sort of personality but not a big personality or you’ll be banished. He said he was constantly trying to strike the balance. I think that’s why he had so many of the right ideas but didn’t properly voice them with any clout behind him. You didn’t even really see him doing much snaking about talking about people either, he just seemed to always know the answer but rarely voice it. His tactic did kind of work though, he almost went all the way to the end if Mollie had just noticed what was happening

I agree that the next season might benefit from a little more jeopardy for the Traitors - whether they have to sabotage tasks, perform 'traitorish' things, 'steal' money or do something else - the Faithful have so little to go on in the current format. Really they just have the murders and what the selected victim's identity may, or may not, signify.

Nothing too much - it works that the Traitors have SOME advantage, but it's so heavily weighted.

Baby2024x · 27/01/2024 00:09

@Checken yeah I think someone like Jaz played a better game really. There was something really likeable about Harry early on but there was a turning point for me somewhere in the middle. He really couldn’t cope with the pressure at all when having the finger pointed at him for even a brief second. That’s exactly why I wouldn’t apply for the show, I have no poker face 🙈

I also noticed every time when it was either a tense bit at the round table or someone was about to reveal if they were a traitor or not he ALWAYS had his hands up at his face or over his face. It was like a physical protective barrier he used to hide behind

I think they need to make the traitors take risks in order for rewards. This would then lead to breadcrumbs/ clues for the faithfuls to follow/ solve. At the moment it is really just a parlour game and the traitors have too great an advantage.

I have been saying this since the first series. Not sure how they would do it but it feels like they need a traitor pot and faithful pot somehow. I guess they have thought about this and decided too hard but it would really make the show more interesting and give them actually something to talk about at the round table other than ‘you looked a bit shifty’. Even if the method they used to kill people had to always be more like the poisoning thing rather than a one off. So they decide who they want to kill, Claudia tells them how they will kill them and then the following day she either gives a clue on how it was done or they can win a clue on how it was done or they can sacrifice prize money for a clue.

currently it is too much in favour of ‘but I trust him/her because they are so nice’. I don’t think that will work by season 3 or 4 anymore for good telly as the contestants will all get to know the game too well.

Where can I watch the NZ traitors?

I've been mulling this over and I'm worried that young adults are putting themselves out for public scrutiny without the wherewithal and life experience to not take it on the chin. Looking over our threads I'm cringing at some of the things I've posted in the heat of the programme but forgetting these are people and youngsters at that. Multiply that across the platforms and I sincerely hope Mollie, at the very least, is well supported.

They said it was on iplayer now

Baby2024x · 27/01/2024 00:32

In case anyone hasn’t seen it and wants to hear more from behind the scenes of how they make the show, there’s a thing on YouTube called anatomy of a hit about the traitors and they talk about how the make all the decisions.

I think some aspects of the show like the money situation is part of the show format as they bought it, they said you can change some bits but you have to maintain a lot of the key aspects to call it the same name

Dyra · 27/01/2024 00:33

Maybe they'll do extra roles like they have in other Mafia style games.

For example, Gaoler. Prevents a person from leaving their room at night. But they don't know if the person they 'jail' tries to leave or not. So if they choose a traitor by chance or design, they can't join in on the nightly discussions. Or Sentry. Detects if the player they pick left their room in the night. This would also apply to all Faithful additional roles as well, so a Faithful gaoler would come back as having left their room.

Would probably be too complex for TV I guess, but it would shake things up a little. Give the Faithful more to go on.

I don't think Harry is dim at all

Wilf - Season 1 - was a bit dim, but Harry was really strategic.

Bit sick of this narrative. You can be a 'cheeky chappy' with a London or Essex accent and be intelligent. Not getting at you specifically, but some really classest' assumptions around Harry 'types'.

Harry being an engineer should have given away he has a strategic and logical brain

Generationawesome · 27/01/2024 00:36

I think these kind of shows require street smarts, people skills and common sense over conventional intelligence. Zach showed intelligence leads to huge amounts of overthinking.

IGotItFromAgnes · 27/01/2024 00:37

I don’t think Harry was dim.

Unlike most of the others, I don’t think he came across as being a particularly nice person on Uncloaked, but everyone in the show seemed to like him so perhaps he’s just not good in interviews,

Generationawesome · 27/01/2024 00:38

He's a charmer.

JaneJeffer · 27/01/2024 00:44

Harry isn't dim but it's to his advantage if anyone thinks he is!

I'm surprised anyone who watched the whole series thinks Harry is actually dim.
They probably didn't pay enough attention to Episode 1 where he had his chat with Claudia about whether he'd like to be a Traitor or Faithful.

Hesaid he's an engineer.
Claudia pointedly said you're only 22/23 but you're a corporal.
He specifically said his strategy would be to play into to the cheeky chappy, young and naive stereotype, when he's much more switched on.
Subtext: Harry is pretty smart and driven and competent.

Who's wilf?

WriterOfWrongs · 27/01/2024 00:54

Is Wilf called dim?

Personally I don't think he is. But Harry was much better. Much better at controlling his emotions. He seemed to be liked by everyone whereas as Wilf most definitely had his clique.
I don't know if we have evidence to say Harry led Mollie on.
Yes Harry kept Mollie close but unlike Wilf, he didn't get to the end with several naive loyal people did. Hello, Jazz was there. And Andrew.

Wilf had Hannah, Aaron and Meryl.
