Also it was clear that mollie didn’t think she was choosing between two faithfuls. She had doubts re Harry which is why she said ‘it’s not you is it?’
as for Harry just playing the game. It is one thing to pretend to be a faithful it is another to exploit someone else’s misplaced feelings for you.

Totally. Poor Mollie. I think the way Harry used her was shameful. It's not just gameplay, it's exploitative...

Ruminate2much · 27/01/2024 06:44

Mollie had last minute doubts yes. But I think it was virtually impossible for her to override her emotions, and all those days build-up to total trust.
She had terrible critical thinking, and it was painful to watch. But I understand how it happened, and do feel so sorry for her.

Stopsnowing · 27/01/2024 06:52

A traitor is always going to win if they vote to end the game.

Aw, diddums.

So pleased for Harry. Fantastic programme, have loved this season from start to finish.

I know. Of course. It's obvious, and as I said earlier, 99% of people would definitely have voted Harry off, given that info. But Mollie's emotions clouded her ability to think clearly. Given a bit more time, she'd have made the right decision I think.
We've all done daft things that make no sense in hindsight. Usually they don't cost us £44k

What was Harry supposed to do, admit he was a traitor?

shearwater2 · 27/01/2024 06:56

Aw, diddums.

@shearwater2 that's not very nice. Mollie is a real human being who was shamefully used by an unpleasant person.

WriterOfWrongs · 27/01/2024 07:02

Poor Mollie. I think the way Harry used her was shameful. It's not just gameplay, it's exploitative...

How did he use her and how did it go beyond gameplay?

As far as we know, he didn’t take up the turret and promise to love her forever.

WriterOfWrongs · 27/01/2024 01:08

What were Harry's misogynistic comments @Checken ? Not that I don't believe you, I just can't remember.

I clearly remember the point where my view of Harry changed. I was really enjoying the game he was playing, you could see that he totally got it and had a game plan. I preferred him to Paul who I found ott and a bit hammy.

I had already clocked that, apart from Aubrey at the start, they were only murdering women, and then there was the comment that Harry said when Ross asked him why they had chosen Diane. They referenced that she was a 'strong voice', and then Harry said, 'yeah, we put her in her place'. That was it for me, I don't think he likes or respects women much. He played Mollie like a fiddle, knew exactly how to manipulate her using emotions.

I have really enjoyed watching this series, and the best player won, but I don't like him very much!

shearwater2 · 27/01/2024 07:03

I'm not sure I'd have got it right aged 21 either, I've nothing against Mollie whatsoever.

Ruminate2much · 27/01/2024 07:04

Dotellhimpike · 27/01/2024 07:00

No, but he used her utterly. No decency whatsoever. Yes, it's a game, but even within the parameters of a game, there has to be some morality.

shearwater2 · 27/01/2024 07:05

"Shamefully used" Are you a character from a 19th century morality play?

crumpet · 27/01/2024 07:17

Mollies belief in Harry was not really different to many of other people’s beliefs. Jaz’s staunch support for Miles, or Zach’s equally firm belief that Jasmine was a traitor.

good editing of the Harry/Mollie conversations (editing team of course knowing the ending).

plus entirely legitimate for Mollie to believe that Harry and Jaz were both faithful and that Jaz had voted to continue so that the pot could be split 2 rather than 3 ways.

MamaBearsss · 27/01/2024 07:18

Harry deserved to win. It’s a game show and he played the game. Too many of the contestants played based on who they liked instead of actually analysing what was happening.

Alchemistress · 27/01/2024 07:19

I'm not sure that I have a problem with a young British Asian man not knowing about a woman whose complete oeuvre was steeped in Colonialism.

crumpet · 27/01/2024 07:19

Also every single other contestant was SPEECHLESS when they found out if was Harry - Mollie was not alone.

crumpet · 27/01/2024 07:22

I disagree . She voted to end, thinking that there were 3 faithfuls. And no player could be 100% sure.

Holidayhell22 · 27/01/2024 07:29

If anyone saw uncloaked Jas explained how fast moving the pace is, how it’s very difficult to keep with it. How ideas get thrown around and you have to be on your toes to stay with it, otherwise you are next for the chop. We see the condensed edited version. One minute Jas could be thinking right, I’m going to explain my theory about Harry, but suddenly Zach is talking about Jasmine and now there us a very heated debate between Jasmine and Zach. Now Ross is throwing a theory about how Jasmine said blah, blah. Now Evie is also slinging mud at Jasmine. Now it’s time to vote.
I’ve definitely been in situations where I’ve not gotten my point across as well as I should have. I’ve seen it happen many, many times to others too. Also in situations where I know the other people well. I’ve been in meetings where valid important points have been met with ‘Well we don’t have time to discuss that now.’
Its very easy to say what you THINK you would have done. Loud voices get murdered though.

noblegiraffe · 27/01/2024 07:30

No, he voted to continue because he thought Harry might be traitor. That's obvious.

But there didn't have to be a traitor left in the game. It's perfectly plausible that Jaz was wrong and Harry was a faithful. Look at how many other faithfuls had been incorrectly banished!

Mollie thought they were both faithful, she voted to end the game and she that Jaz was wrong to not end the game there. She had to vote someone off even though she thought they were both faithful. The only info she had was that Jaz thought Harry was a traitor. Not that there was a traitor.

lljkk · 27/01/2024 07:31

Jas said repeatedly that he was going with his gut. Voting based on feelings. He could give reasons, logic, but he still said he was following his gut.

Mollie also went with her gut. They had the same strategy.

Slumberlands · 27/01/2024 07:32

I was wondering if they do psychological profiling on would be contestants before they make a definite choice. There is a lot of risk that contestants might be unable to deal with being in an unfamiliar environment without means to talk to friends and family (they must surely take away their phones), and under a lot of pressure. I am surprised at how intense it all becomes. It's just a game. They are there to manipulate and lie, that is the game. In many ways it is such an unpleasant concept. Greed and lack of a moral compass gets you the money at the expense of the others who become friends at their peril. To win the game it's essential not to become emotionally involved with anyone , to stay detached and keep focused on money, and only money whilst being deceitful. For young people who maybe don't have a lot of life experience or may be vulnerable it's a risk for the producers. I think it is too heavily weighted in favour of traitors and seems quite male dominated.

I expected Harry to have every aspect of his life under scrutiny now, to come in for a lot of negative press . The media will rip him to shreds and he may regret all this in the future. As for Molly, I expect she may really struggle to process what has happened.

I think Harry played the game really really well. He deserved to win, but a lot of the contestants and viewers seem to lose sight of the fact that it's a GAME. He was playing a role.

Willmafrockfit · 27/01/2024 07:32

exactly @noblegiraffe

WhereAreWeNow · 27/01/2024 07:32

What a brilliant finale. Jaz played so well. Harry was a brilliant traitor. I really feel for Mollie. Realising that she'd been played by Harry was always going to sting, but it must hurt so much more after that final deliberation. I think I would feel totally betrayed and humiliated. Poor girl.
