Yeah exactly, so by jaz voting to banish again would prove he was a faithful. Why would he vote to banish again if he was a traitor?

gabbyaggy · 27/01/2024 01:34

I think the show is chopped and edited and diced and sliced to within an inch of its life. And Harry's girlfriend works for the BBC, I'm a bit cynical, l think.

She didn't think Jaz was a traitor. She didn't think either of them were traitors, she'd voted to end the game. Her basic decision was who to vote off thinking they were both faithful, so who did she think she should split the money with.

She knew Jaz thought Harry was a traitor so that introduced doubt, but ultimately she trusted Harry to not be traitor more than she trusted Jaz to identify him as a traitor.

BeaLola · 27/01/2024 02:03

I would have wanted Jaz to win but hey Ho.

What I never saw (but maybe was asleep) was no one questioned Diane being faithful but Ross a traitor - I think when you are banished you should be allowed to say I was a recruited traitor or similar - Ross was a traitor for 1 day

If there is a season 3 they need to either fix the number of traitors to 2 or 3 or perhaps if they try to recruit and then that person turns it down they can't be murdered for say 2 nights , but also can't divulge that they turned it down

I've been mulling this over and I'm worried that young adults are putting themselves out for public scrutiny without the wherewithal and life experience to not take it on the chin. Looking over our threads I'm cringing at some of the things I've posted in the heat of the programme but forgetting these are people and youngsters at that. Multiply that across the platforms and I sincerely hope Mollie, at the very least, is well supported.

Agreed. My thoughts exactly.

Game or not Mollie will sure need some counselling I'll bet...

alwayslearning789 · 27/01/2024 02:27

Pollyannamex · 27/01/2024 00:58

I hope Mollie is getting some support. They went very easy on her on uncloaked.

Noticed that too and she was very nervy...

Ruminate2much · 27/01/2024 02:28

I really do hope people are kind to Mollie. I felt she looked very vulnerable on Uncloaked.
I'm gutted for Jaz though; and Andrew too. I actually think it would be easier for Andrew to have lost to the faithfuls. But to lose to Harry must be a bitter pill to swallow.

WriterOfWrongs · 27/01/2024 02:36

Well she clearly felt vulnerable, and is vulnerable, and they have a duty of care to her.

There’s also the optics to consider. She’s a disabled young women who seems lovely but not very bright. It wouldn’t look good if they gave her a hard time.

I do think they all - Claudia and Ed and other contestants - felt protective of her.

Dotellhimpike · 27/01/2024 02:40

Phew, finally caught up with the thread/s

I was gutted at the result but what gripping telly, and you have to admit Harry won it unfair and square, as a traitor should.

My Evie crush was well justified, especially after seeing her on Uncloaked.

I've posted this before but c'mon, how much does Mollie resemble actress Emilie de Ravin?

You raise very good points; and I have to say that the final left a bitter taste in my mouth. I think Jaz will be fine, but genuinely feel worried about Mollie. I haven't been able to sleep much thinking about it. Hence posting at this hour.
I've been gripped by this series, but for various reasons think I might give next year a miss. I'll stick with the David Attenborough series from now on I think.

Ruminate2much · 27/01/2024 05:44

My only comfort re Jaz is that he can hold his head up high knowing he played a brilliant game. His fellow faithfuls didn't appreciate him as we the viewers did. I reckon he'll be given opportunities on the back of how well he played.
I actually don't think Harry's victory in the game will serve him well in future. He ended up being pretty unpopular with the public. I think the way he used Mollie was shameful honestly. Yes, it's only a game, but still real human beings.
Andrew and Mollie, I'm just full of sympathy for them. I know Mollie seriously lacked critical thinking skills at that point. But, the intel on Harry was new information for her, and she probably didn't have time to process it properly with such a huge barrier (her total trust) in the way. She was still in shock I reckon. I do think 99% of people (with emotions set aside) would have figured out that Jaz was a faithful due to his wanting another round. But love is blind.
Poor girl must have found yesterday very difficult. Nothing but sympathy from me.

ohmydiddlydays · 27/01/2024 05:45

I want to re-post @noblegiraffe's post below which is the same as what I said earlier but I can't as it's a reply, but I really don't like the 'mollie is not very bright' narrative on the internet. She chose loyalty to a friend over a guaranteed 50k. Yes it's a game she played badly at the end but I think that makes her a pretty good person.

She didn't think Jas was a traitor, she thought she was choosing one person so win it with and chose Harry even though there was a risk to that choice and not with Jas because Jas was a guaranteed faithful. But she was willing to take that risk as she believed Harry and wanted to share the winnings with him over Jas.

Ruminate2much · 27/01/2024 05:57

@ohmydiddlydays I haven't read much about it all online, so don't know what everyone's saying about Mollie. But, I can guess.
I totally agree that she's a lovely person. I do think she seriously lacked critical thinking skills at that moment in time; but I don't think it's due to low intellect. I think her judgement was just very clouded by her emotions, and she didn't have time to process the new information given to her. As stated in my post above, I understand how it happened, and am sympathetic.
Hopefully she now sees that Jaz is much more worthy of loyalty than Harry. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Yeah there's a lot of people who think they're very clever for working out Jas couldn't be a traitor, which is pretty basic. And saying she's thick etc. Mollie thought they were all faithful, she chose who she'd rather split the money with, that's all. It was unimaginable that she'd vote out Harry at that stage over Jas and in her eyes, do Harry out of the money at the final hurdle, even though she had had proof Jas was faithful not that Harry was. She thought she'd be betraying a faithful Harry. And they could both have been faithfuls, it wasn't like it was clear there was a traitor left.

ohmydiddlydays · 27/01/2024 06:07

It's nothing to do with how clever or not she is. She just didn't think Harry was a traitor and chose winning with him over a guaranteed win with Jas.

Willmafrockfit · 27/01/2024 06:07

funny how claudia said Harry and Mollie were like brother and sister they were so close, bit of damage limitation i expect.

disappointed with the ending

Willmafrockfit · 27/01/2024 06:08

i hope good things come to Jaz and Andrew

ohmydiddlydays · 27/01/2024 06:09

I'll stop saying it now 😂 but I wish they'd given her a chance to explain on uncloaked. I hope she does explain at some point. She was absolutely shafted for her loyalty to her friend. It much be a bitter win for a traitor, as harry said he just wanted to be able to say he was a faithful.

Oh me too. Love them both ❤️

Ruminate2much · 27/01/2024 06:23

Jaz will always be the winner to me anyway. He played so brilliantly, and almost won, against the odds. The game is so heavily weighted in favour of the traitors, that to do so well as a faithful without a Kieron-esque bombshell, you really do deserve all the credit. Jaz is a hero 🏆

Stopsnowing · 27/01/2024 06:24

totally agree they need to change the game to balance it out between the traitors and faithful. It it too weighted in favour of the traitors. Frankly it makes it boring. Maybe force them to take risks like with the chalice or give the faithful some clues? Or reduce their ability to recruit?
as it is it just turns into “who do you trust” rather than an opportunity to deduce anything (although the Oz version has more actual sleuthing in it)
I actually think claudia is wrong every time she asks them to think who do you trust? When they use their gut they are usually wrong.
mollie was so gullible. The programme always shows that most people want to be able to trust people. That is why Jaz with his history was at an advantage but he couldn’t quite get it over the line. (Although Mollie should have realised that only a traitor would vote to end the game)
the only consolation for me was when they showed jaz afterwards being pleased he voted four traitors out so he could feel some satisfaction.
worth repeating what a fantastic host Claudia is. She gives it gravitas and maintains a distance but clearly relates to the contestants and really wants them to do well on the challenges.

What do you mean 'Mollie should have realised that only a traitor would vote to end the game' ?

Mollie wasn't a traitor, and she voted to end the game.
