Australian Traitors Season 2: Spoilers!! Spoilers!!

For all those who have WATCHED Season 2 on Daily Motion and wish to discuss ... SPOILERS

The ending. What a blinder Camille played! And Sam still trying to talk her out of it. I would have done exactly the same.

I can't remember most contestant's names now but it was extraordinary how every time someone suspected Sam he deflected onto them and off they were banished. I couldn't work out if he was a genius or the rest of them were extraordinarily stupid. I certainly wouldn't be pleased if that psychologist woman was my therapist, dumb to the very last moment.

Sam is a genuinely horrible person

Without Camille, he would have been banished

crampycrumpet · 26/01/2024 20:41

If only Camille and blake had forged more of an alliance. They could have voted same off at the end and split the dosh

crampycrumpet · 26/01/2024 20:42

He had no right to say they had worked hard

It's a game. Not a job. They all had the same input

Stowickthevast · 27/01/2024 08:27

I still can't get over the Annabel and Luke thing.

They set it all out so clearly, then one of them gets banished and is a Faithful and the other is murdered, and there are still no alarm bells ringing from the Faithfuls.

Someone calls them dummies, and I don't disagree!

periodiclabel · 27/01/2024 09:12

I love the way they called each other dummies on banishment , both seasons they’ve been so much more direct than the Brits

It's so hard watching all of the clever women being killed off and voted out and watching Sam act in the same way yet be completely revered. It's a very quick demonstration of how women are ignored in favour of men and how confident men can really do whatever they like, even gaining kudos along the way!

Hiwhoeveryyouare · 27/01/2024 17:10

It's also made me really wonder how bright you need to be to be a psychotherapist - I honestly thought that would have needed a braincell or two at least and am actually quite concerned people tell that woman their secrets. Where do they get some of these contestants?

Copen · 27/01/2024 22:55

I'm not sure I'd have been as proud as Keith to announce a police background given his utter cluelessness.

So glad Camilla didn't just let them walk all over her. I really hated when Sam said he would tell her to write share and she would say 'yes sir'.

I thought she had written share even though it would have made no logical sense beyond her showing 'integrity' (or gullibility in this case.) Writing steal gave her the outcome of 3 chances of winning all or half, 1 of nothing . Share just gave her a 1 of a chance of a third share, and 3 chances of nothing. Given she knew at least one of them was likely to write steal she had nothing to lose by writing steal.

Hiwhoeveryyouare · 27/01/2024 23:58

And neither of them mentioned Blake was happy to steal it too so they all had themselves to blame really.

ReindeerRider · 28/01/2024 02:15

I just binged it all (though admittedly forwarded through the missions mainly). Wow I loved that ending. I am so glad Camille saw through them and went with steal - that’s the game and she was justified. It’s not about who deserves or is rich. That was Sam all over brining that point up and being utterly pissed off his plan had finally failed after he successfully fooled everyone at every banishment! I couldn’t believe it watching round table after round table where those accusing him suddenly were suspects themselves and banished. Even though they were proven faithfuls the remaining faithfuls still didn’t click!! Dummies indeed!! I mean Sam played a blinder but I didn’t like him at all. Right from his first plotting to banish Ash he got my back up. Made Paul look like the Panto villain he was.

That was really brutal compared to our lovely UK “love the bones of you” version wasn’t it?! I mean the were plotting and planning throughout with no concerns seemingly. Even calling people over for private chats in front of everyone else. No need to seek around watching who was speaking to who. No one cares they plotted loads!! None of the “going with gut” in Oz apparently.

it’s also way camper and the host and production isn’t a patch on Calud and the castle / Scotland settling. The traitors sitting at a wee table isn’t as spooky either nor weee the red cloaks.

haven’t watched any other versions - what would anyone recommend for me next (guess sticking to no spoilers except uk and this oz season!)

Did Blake and Sam have a deal that they'd both steal on the assumption that Camille would split? I think they did but I can't remember. I don't think Sam looked upset that Blake had stolen...

Hiwhoeveryyouare · 28/01/2024 08:54

@NonPlayerCharacter it didn't show them discussing it, but the point was if only one had put steal they would have taken it, but 2 or more and they all lost it. So there's no honour amount thieves but the outrage Sam felt against Camille was next level, as if she personally had taken it from him. He's the kind of guy I'd imagine slashing tyres in the night or causing trouble down the line...all those tasks where he said "he shouldn't have poked the bear" etc when other players aimed for his name or whatever. Poor Camille! I actually thought Blake was going to tell him to fuck off at the end but somehow he held it in.

Australia season one is good - probably better than two, two is just exceptional for the ending! The US version left me completely cold.

We thought Camille should probably be looking over her shoulder for years to come.

ReindeerRider · 28/01/2024 10:16

Thanks. I’ll give season 1 a try. I did start the US season 1 but couldn’t get into it. Seemed like a poor man’s version of the real (uk) deal and I didn’t like that there were celebrities (use term loosely!!) in with real people. I’m aware this is the case for Oz too but somehow they didn’t come across like celebrities at all!! I didn’t know any in either us 1 or oz2 except the two from below deck.

Something about the non UK versions just seems off. I’m not sure if it’s missing the darkness and Claudia. Or if they are just too jokey in presenting manner.

Yes totally! Her federal agent training will be well needed in the wrath of Sam (who took it a little too intensely at the end!!)

Oh, I seemed to recall that one split and two steals meant the stealers got it. That was why the Camille moment was so shocking and why Sam only seemed angry with her.

That's a really bad way to end because of course anyone who got that far as a Traitor would steal. From a gameplay perspective, you should. You can't control what the other player chooses and it's their choice that determines whether you get anything. All you can control is the size of the pot should you win, and stealing gives you twice as much if that happens.

Hiwhoeveryyouare · 28/01/2024 10:34

Yes, I didn't really understand why anyone would trust Sam not to steal it - you'd have to be pretty thick to go in there and not write steal alongside him!

TraitorFan · 28/01/2024 21:21

I’ve watched the US series 1 and UK & Australian series 1&2. The Australian series 1 was amazing and the second one could have been arguably the best ever but the minute Annabel & Luke left it was a crock of shite. What a total shame. A note to the people who cast in Australia - this is NOT a game for stupid people who are easy to manipulate or roll over easily!!! To date I reckon UK series 2 is the best in the world. Harry played a blinder.

Stowickthevast · 28/01/2024 21:57

@ReindeerRider I quite liked the NZ one. It is a mix of celebs and normal people but as they're all Kiwi, you wouldn't know any of them. The Faithful are definitely more switched on than the Aus version.... Not hard!

Toptotoe · 29/01/2024 21:45

I wonder if the game is based on this social experiment called Werewolf?

It's a terrible way to end a game like this. Nobody who gets to the end of a game based on backstabbing and betrayal is ever going to vote split. Strategy wise you should vote steal anyway because you can't control whether the other player/players decide to give you anything but if they do, stealing will give you more than splitting.

If they're at a point where only Traitors remain in the game, fine. Just split the pot between them.

NonPlayerCharacter · 29/01/2024 21:55

Sorry, just realised I basically made the exact same post earlier. I'm clearly so memorable even I forget I've posted 🤣

tedtalkstome · 29/01/2024 22:26

Sam came across as a complete psychopath! No empathy, no guilt, thought he was above the game and everyone else!
The BEST moment was seeing him lose!

Lentilweaver · 29/01/2024 22:47

Definitely the series with the stupidest Faithfuls. Either that or Sam is a hypnotist. No other explanation for them repeatedly voting out everyone who accused Sam.

Sam ended up being getting a taste of his own medicine. I did think Blake and Camille were very silly to not get rid of him earlier instead of Liam. They could then have split the pot as they seemed to trust each other.

I want to be Camille when I grow up.
