I couldn't see another thread, is anyone watching? I thought the opening pro number was fabulous, loved the skate through London.

Will be interesting to how it is with Stephen and Holly, they seemed relaxed together when he stood in for Phil.

I agree about that frock.

I also agree that Ryan wasn’t the best skater but he brought some warmth to it.

Miles was better but the performances were very cold. Perfunctory even.

I wonder if Greg’s accident gave him the fear?

And as for the show dances? My oh my. What happened there? Odd choices all round - from the music, to the clothes, to the skate.

they should all have bolero’d too.

I agree it's a shame about Greg, but i'm happy that Ryan won.

Well I forgot to watch it! Which shows how invested I've been this year.

I'd say talent wise it's one of the weakest they have had in years.

I'd say Miles was a slightly better skater but Ryan had more personality. Obviously Greg should have won.

The show needs a refresh or maybe a couple of years break for us to miss it. It has felt pretty lacklustre this year. 🌹

I know i'm very delayed but finally watched the final! I enjoyed it & was pleased Ryan won, although gutted for Greg.

I'd like Karen back as a judge or the ice dancer guest judge and lose either Oti or Ashley as I'd like more ice calibre on the judging panel & more focus on the skating in general!

I can't bear Karen as a judge. All that stupid sobbing last time just made her look too emotional.

I don't remember sobbing @TheAverageJoanne but do remember just how vile Jason was to her whilst the other judges & hosts said nothing, so have always wanted her to have the last laugh over him!

Dancing on Ice pre-season is on. Today I've seen Dame Sarah Storey and Sylvain practicing. Sylvain is still a fine looking man. Dame Sarah looked determined if nervous.

Josh Jones was on the ice the other week, he looked very nervy. Wearing a safety helmet and had very wobbly ankles.

Mmmm, surely this is a TV addict thread…not what I spotted while I was out at an ice rink ‘tabloid/internet news’ style thread.
The series hasn’t even started yet, give them a chance…

I think it's interesting. If I saw Eastenders/ Grand Designs/ House of the Dragon being filmed on my street I'd totally post it on the relevant MN Telly Addicts thread (with a spoiler warning if necessary).

And it's the first mention on this thread that the DOI 2025 celebs have been announced, which I for one had completely failed to notice. Can Chelsee Healey become the first woman to win since the 2018 reboot?

The only thing you can get a feel about from ice rink gossip is if someone is going to be a no-hoper really. It was obvious with Bez, but god love him, he worked and worked at it, you would hear him fall multiple times a session and pretty much every time he'd be straight back on the ice. Only once did I see him sit on the side and take 10 minutes to consider his life choices. He was there all the time, working with the coach Stephen Pickavance and his pro.

Ricky Hatton was obvious because he basically did a few sessions and then he just seemed to start showing up later and later, with his pro sat around doing nothing.

As you never see the routines being run to music you don't really understand how musical the celebrity is.

This week had Karen Barber and Daniel Whiston teaching Josh some building blocks of choreography. Nothing to music (they were stuck with my Novice Foxtrot ). A lot of it was the stationary bobbing and weaving stuff. It was interesting seeing how they teach little 'bites' of stuff that they can drop into the routines throughout the life on show.

Looks like Dame Sarah was right to be nervous, she's out already with a broken ankle poor thing.
