Now fully at Live TV pace.

Will it be a traitor in the kitchen with a poisoned chalice?

I listened to that episode of TRIE, it's very good and interesting to hear Richard's take on how best to play the game.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 16/01/2024 22:01

Just joining this thread in preparation for tomorrow. Can’t wait to see how it goes. Fingers crossed Di is cannier than Miles gives her credit for.

Violahastings · 16/01/2024 23:15

Did they do the poison chalice thing last series? If so surely it’s too obvious to use again?

IGotItFromAgnes · 16/01/2024 23:17

They did one “kill in plain sight” murder but I don’t think it was a chalice. Might have been a kiss?

Turkeyhen · 16/01/2024 23:20

Yes, it was the kiss of death last time

EasterMummie · 17/01/2024 06:59

Placemarking for tomorrow. Really hope Diane stays but don't think she will. My back up hope is that they somehow manage to bring her back from the dead later

IAmTheGibby · 17/01/2024 07:26

Also hoping Diane stays! Maybe by taking too long to have a sip and missing the midnight deadline? Or by pouring it into her own glass (I wouldn’t want to drink from an old chalice as it would give the wine a metallic taste)?

Holidayhell22 · 17/01/2024 07:30

I also want Diane to stay.

ParsnipAndPoppy · 17/01/2024 09:08

I think Diane will stay, not sure how but she will. But Miles will look shocked, meaning that Diane will be onto him.

I think Harry is beginning to realise Paul is only out for himself and one of the boys will go this week. Problem is that Jaz has linked Paul and Harry so if one goes there is a chance they both do.

IGotItFromAgnes · 17/01/2024 09:16

I think Harry’s best chance is to persuade the others to murder Jaz before Jaz can tell any of the faithfuls about his conversation with Paul.

Can’t see Paul making it to the end.

Someone on another forum I was reading suggested (and this is not a spoiler as they were just theorising) that Paul may falsely claim to be Diane’s son if she is killed. That would definitely be an interesting twist.

I think it was a hug ?

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 17/01/2024 09:42

I think it was a kiss. Amanda kissed Amos on the cheek before he went to bed I think.

That would be hilarious. Can you just imagine Ross's reaction?!

Paul could be shown on the VT (or whatever it's called) explaining it would be a crafty move and to gain sympathy.

I would love it though Paul might be too smart for it - seeing how badly it went last Traitors for the couple revealing they knew each other. They just got seen as untrustworthy.

whosaidtha · 17/01/2024 10:39

I don't really know what Paul would think that would achieve?
I think Paul must go soon. The longer he stays the more suspicious it is because he's such an obvious murder target.
I also hate that they are lining up miles to be the next scapegoat. The traitors can win as a group. And if anything is easier to win that way. If two are in the final and they do like they did last year having an extra traitor means you can get rid of one and then everyone will think that's it.

ChoccyJules · 17/01/2024 10:47

I got into the series due to the podcast mentioned above. It was my first time listening to the podcast so double winner as that turned out to be great too!

When they originally trailed Series 1 of The Traitors I didn’t think it was for me so hadn’t experienced or really taken any interest in any of the hype around it. After listening to the podcast I binged Series 1 in three days, lay awake mulling it over (this shocked me) and now DH and I are watching series 2 together.

periodiclabel · 17/01/2024 11:18

So many of my friends are traitors snobs, they shudder if I suggest they might watch it – their loss! I know they would love it

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 17/01/2024 11:23

@periodiclabel Agreed. I have recommended it to friends who have said 'they don't like reality TV' which I guess it is - but very different from what they might be thinking of (love island etc)

Yup, I was slightly in that camp and didn't watch S1 (also it came out pre Christmas when things were busy), but then caught up with S1 because my kids loved it so much and was hooked. DH came on board this season because the rest of the family were watching and ditto. But still a friend last week debating whether she should watch a dreary film that night (I know it's dreary I've seen it) rolled her eyes when I suggested binge-watching Traitors instead. As I said, their loss

ParsnipAndPoppy · 17/01/2024 13:33

Some people are just no fun are they. Honestly.

i love it because it’s one of the things we can really get into as a family and I love seeing how much the kids enjoy it

ParsnipAndPoppy · 17/01/2024 13:34

@lemonsaretheonlyfruit@periodiclabel imagine if they knew you MN’d about it too 🤣🤣

kc431 · 17/01/2024 13:39

I know right! All of my team (blokes) normally “don’t like reality TV” but they absolutely love the traitors. It’s like #1 office topic right now 😆

SpttyMaldoon · 17/01/2024 13:43

Hi everyone,
does anyone know at what time the new episode will come out on iPlayer?
I think I read upthread that they’re released before the live show.
thanks!

crampycrumpet · 17/01/2024 13:46

Suspect it will be 9pm

WriterOfWrongs · 17/01/2024 13:51

@SpttyMaldoon

I don’t know the answer to your Q, I don’t think it’s much before 9pm.

If you watch it on the released iPlayer version (rather than Live via iPlayer), even at 9pm, please don’t post anything on here until those watching live have seen that part. It won’t run to the same timing as the live version. We had this issue last week Wink

I was trying to describe Traitors to someone, and the best I could come up with was

’I’m a Celebrity’ (when they had the more interesting challenges)
+
Big Brother’ -ish
+
The Circle (channel 4 show when people spoke through the screen, and could catfish/pretend to be someone else.)
