Oh no Sad - probably is for the best though - hope he manages to come back at least for the French Open and possibly the Olympics

well done Grigor! I just saw a bit of the really long service game for Holger. Really pleased for Grigor - I’m sure that Holger will have a lot more opportunities to win things

Raahh · 07/01/2024 10:20

On a smaller level, Dom Stricker has withdrawn from AO too- and I like him, he was on a good run, and Baby Stan was fun to watch. Opelka- who doesn't seem to have played for ages, i also out.

It's never the players you want to withdraw, is it? Hmm.

kazzaD66 · 07/01/2024 10:32

Liam Broady has withdrawn from AO qualifying, which is a shame as he had a good run in Hong Kong.

IceandIndigo · 07/01/2024 10:36

It’s clear that Rafa’s priority is being fit for RG and that’s fair enough. Shame,
was looking forward to seeing him play though.

ChessieFL · 07/01/2024 10:39

That’s a shame about Rafa but no point pushing himself if he’s not quite ready yet.

Raahh · 07/01/2024 10:45

Shame about Liam too. He's had his highest ranking recently too.

We need to put our collective minds together and send a hex to the Demonic one.

kazzaD66 · 07/01/2024 10:53

I fear he is indestructible Raahh Hmm
Unfortunately Angry

Raahh · 07/01/2024 11:03

I think you're right, kazza- but more and more people are questioning his antics-and doesn't like being questioned. He may get rattled.

JaneJeffer · 07/01/2024 11:18

Sad about Rafa but his health is the most important thing and especially for his family I'm sure!

Well done Grigor. Holger is playing well and hopefully can be the demon slayer for us.

Elena trashed Aryna. I was surprised by the final scores!

Sascha has just beaten Hubi in the United Cup.

Dick Kyrgios sent a message to Rafa re- his withdrawal- and there has been a bit of a back lash from people who think he is making things about him. I'm inclined to agree. It's not like he's ever had a good word to say about Rafa in the past- he's usually sucking up to Roger or DjokHmm

Raahh · 07/01/2024 20:40

His message was

'Feel for Rafa man. Get better soon, that was the fear for me as well, coming back a little too soon…'

Which apart from anything else seems to imply Rafa thought he returned too soon. I don't remember him ever saying that?

JaneJeffer · 07/01/2024 20:53

Any time Kyrgios comes back is too soon, knob

OP posts:
Raahh · 07/01/2024 20:55

Exactly, Jane.

Maybe the tide is turning, people are criticising Dick and Djok.

JaneJeffer · 07/01/2024 20:57

He was always nasty towards Rafa and I hope he never comes back. Djokovic can do one as well Grin

Quite- he's trying to stay in the news, and no one is fooled.

I saw he was making comments about Boris (Becker)and his prison sentence recently too. He's very lucky that a spineless judge didn't lock him up for what he did-that he did plead guilty to- because he was only in court for crimes against a woman, after all. Nothing important. Angry
Dick

Well done to Germany, winning the United Cup (still none the wiser over the format, and Poland seemed to be winning everythin up til yesterday).
Sascha has certainly come back from all his injury problems.
Still, a good start to the year for Iga and Hubi, and lots of good match practice.

Jack Draper has beaten Seb Baez in Adelaide, good win for him.

kazzaD66 · 09/01/2024 12:57

Good win for Dan, first match back from his injury. Only managed to see the last couple of points. DS subscribed us to Tennis TV before he returned to uni, so I'll see how that goes.....Hmm

JaneJeffer · 09/01/2024 17:44

Raahh** you better get this pointless question right!

OP posts:
ChessieFL · 09/01/2024 17:58

Ooh what was the question?

JaneJeffer · 09/01/2024 18:04

Doctors Chessie I tuned out because I had no clue Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 09/01/2024 18:26

Jane I did! Grin

Eddie Redmayne is a very famous Doctors alumni Grin

JaneJeffer · 09/01/2024 18:28

Yay!

OP posts:
ChessieFL · 10/01/2024 05:38

Ah, I assumed it was tennis! I don’t watch Doctors so would not have had a clue!

Most people who watch wouldn't have a clue either Grin

Fizzywinegum · 10/01/2024 09:28

I didn’t know that Eddie Redmayne had been in Doctors! He’s come a long way Grin
