I think Aliona's samba outfit has to be up there. Not enough of it to dress a bonsai Christmas tree.

I noticed that when watch older clips too - they are practically naked esp the pros. Also a newer viewer so was surprised!

I enjoyed ITT tonight. I must confess I wasn’t keen on whole idea of Layton when series started. I assumed he was OTT playing a “character”. I really like him. He comes across very well in his interview tonight and in general. He clearly works mega hard too. Yes a ringer so always miles ahead of the pack but im
glad he’s in. I think their CC will be spectacular and am fully expecting a 40 score. He’s great. If Ellie wasn’t such a great dancer (novice) I think I’d be a be rooting for him to win. Annabel is my favourite but she’s not at that level clearly (still hoping she makes final!).

My only reservation about Layton is what happens in musicals week. He’s been in some of the biggest stage shows out there so I’m sure there will be a lot of press and negative social media comments in that respect that week.

To be fair, she probably would. Hoping Kai gets someone he can really dance with next year. Him and AJ were fantastic.

Ola had a few catsuits over the years, this one with Chris Hollims was quite a look. The one that was really sprayed on was with Andrew Castle I think — a cha cha to Mercy.

Agree. Shirley is a beautiful dancer. I liked that concept for ITT also and wish they did more things like that. I know last year Janette did a dance bit but is wasn’t very good imo too jokey whereas this was detailed and informative. As someone who knows less than nothing about dancing I’d like them to do similar for all the main dances so I know what to look for.

Oh, I have never watched ITT ( I waste enough time on Strictly). I agree about Shirley being a beautiful dancer, and I would love more by her.

They did a section like this with Pasha and Chloe on ITT back in 2017. I'll upload the QS, Paso and Samba on the video thread.

I remember Anton wearing an absolutely ridiculous "blouse" (for want of a better word) with super puffy sleeves for a samba with one of his many partners who couldn't dance!

I've just seen the clip of Shirley giving the rumba lesson on ITT. That was a very beautiful thing to watch. 🥰. Now who do we think will attempt those steps? Does Ellie still have the rumba? I'll need to check up thread!

I actually miss the arm-hanky and tiny bikini costumes on Strictly. The latter were quite modest compared to the latin outfits worn in real competitions.

Gavin Henson was quite fond of flashing his chest I remember. Not that there was actually anything wrong with it.

Flavia's six pack abs-shown to great effect in her costume-,are seared into my brain! She was so fabulous.

The ballroom frocks used to be lovely, all arm hankies and feather trimming at the bottom. At the time I really wished I could have a dress like that for my 6th form leavers ball.

Pink sleeves - for his "Love is in the air" samba with Ruth, who could dance quite well. It was a surprise reveal (she was a stewardess, he was suit and tie) and they were embracing the camp. It went down really well.

Sadly - law of diminishing returns - he tried it with Susannah, this time bright orange sleeves and puffy trouser bottoms. He appeared from out of her skirt. She was less comfortable with it all than Ruth and so it looked more awkward.
It went down like a bucket of sick.

I still enjoy watching both as guilty pleasures and still think Susannah was undermarked, especially as she successfully avoided the props on the floor which Tony Beak had to kick away (not as deftly as Pasha's kicking of the fez, but good nonetheless!)

Ruth's was the samba when Shirley said that they were all samba moves that were popular years ago, and Anton said he'd got them all from watching videos of her competing.
