What if the endgame is for Joaquin and James to get through to the Critics' Round, kidnap Tom Parker Bowles and hold him for ransom in a Calais fortress until Scotland regains independence and England returns to Roman Catholicism?

I'm calling the police or maybe it should be the Tower of London. Tell them to get a room ready for a prisoner who can cook his own meals.

ilovesooty · 31/10/2023 21:02

I've got a meeting on Thursday. Catch up with you next week!

littlbrowndog · 31/10/2023 21:04

Is her friend called Kimberleh?

Possibly. But I hope in later rounds she does a selection of deserts, and asks Greggggg, whether he can see if the one he wants is on the trolleh and can he point at it?

Peregrina · 01/11/2023 10:43

What a pity that they couldn't have sent three of them home on Monday night, or even all four. It would have been criminal to have not let all three go through last night.

GrouchyKiwi · 01/11/2023 11:13

Yes, I'm sure in the past they've only kept one person in one of the heats when the other three bombed, saying something like "We can only take chefs who are strong enough for the competition". Welsh chef was lucky to be in that heat.

BIWI · 01/11/2023 12:06

Anyone know how they decide who is going to do which skills test? It seemed really unfair in one of the previous rounds when the guy from a fish/seafood restaurant was given the fish dish, and last night when Joaquin - who has never been a pastry chef or worked in the pastry section - was given the dessert.

I appreciate that last night there was a point to prove - i.e. that if you want to win Masterchef, you have to be able to do desserts as well as savoury dishes, but it did seem to put him at a disadvantage (even if he acquitted himself well.)

Is it purely at random? I can't believe that the producers don't consider the contestants' backgrounds and particular skills/specialities.

ButDaddyILoveHim · 02/11/2023 20:00

Evening all

EsmaCannonball · 02/11/2023 20:00

I wonder if it's about availability, partially. But mostly I suspect the producers aim to make a series of disasters/amazing rounds.

GrouchyKiwi · 02/11/2023 20:03

Am sad because this used to be No Gregg Day. I wonder if what was up with MonMon is continuing, but less difficult, so she's working a shortened schedule.

Wolfcub · 02/11/2023 20:03

Evening all. I've missed a couple this week so I've no idea what some of the chefs are like

FoFanta · 02/11/2023 20:03

Evening all! Food waste challenge - ooooohhhhhh

GrouchyKiwi · 02/11/2023 20:04

How are potatoes wasted? You can eat them for ages, even when they've started sprouting a little bit.

Halsall · 02/11/2023 20:04

Evening, Chuffs.

Pebbledashery · 02/11/2023 20:04

I use potatoes and bread to the bitter end
