How can a professional chef fuck up a roux? I realise it's stressful, and I wouldn't like to have to cook in front of Marcus or Monica, but making a cheese sauce should be something they can do in their sleep!

(I realise I'm commenting after the fact, but we didn't watch it live!)

@BIWI that was my thought exactly. I mean, I can understand not knowing how to deal with sea urchin or the seven layers of membrane in monkfish (who knew?) but a roux is something we all make at home as non-professional chefs. Cauli cheese is a family staple for most people as is a bechamel for lasagne 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Good evening all. Looking forward to the skills test tonight after the strange going on last time! Actually I am up for anything, I am eating a strange mix tonight since I had to clear a space. In the freezer to accommodate the cats food. So very old breaded Camembert and a cheesy potato dauphinoise. Yum ( not)

Having said I am up for anything I don’t think I like the sound of Monica’s carrot and scallop and peanut sauce!
