I'm not sure it'll reach the heights of the BBC ALW shows (I loved those!), but I'm going to give it a go.

Some Greek sunshine will also be nice now the evenings are getting darker!

I think pp's are onto something when they say they want Esme but need to be seen to critique her so people don't think she's just walked to the final because she looks most like the film version

I think the public will pick her because of her fitting the "image" of Sophie

Ooh this goodbye song reminds me of when they used to sing on Joseph before handing in their coat

I agree that Esme looks more like the Sophie from the film.

But I think Stevie embodies the playful character of Sophie more.

I still want Stevie and Tobias to win as I think they also worked well together.

Who was the original Sophie actress then? I thought Amanda Segfried was the first one!

It was a stage musical first - original Sophie was someone called Lisa Stokke, who was actually a brunette in the show.

You mean the West End show? When I went to see it last summer it was a girl with short blonde hair.

Interestingly when looking up the Joseph "losing" scene, the guy that won it looks most like a "Bible character"

Craig was the right boy to go, those vocals were pretty ropy.

I think the vow writing was partly to see how well they understood the character?

Agree with whoever said they have to be seen to be harsh on Esme so it doesn’t look like she just walked into it. I did laugh I think in the very first episode when Sophie gave us a sob story about how it was hard to find work because she was told – because tall beautiful blondes usually find life particularly challenging!!

This what I think. Behind the scenes they would know before it even started filming who they want to take through. The judging just has to make sure that isn’t obvious.

The producers and the woman who created it have always seemed much more in favour of Esme than the judges. I reckon they've had some input, even though we never actually see them explicitly giving an opinion.

Tobias’s was my favourite performance of the night but I do love that song! Prefer Stevie over Stephanie as she just seems more playful, like I imagine Sophie to be. Hated poor Esme’s version of Dancing Queen though - which I imagine was how she was told to sing it rather than personal choice!
